I never, ever remember any ISU team "toying" with Iowa like that. It became laughable at the horrendous defensive effort and countless uncontested shots. Simply embarrassing ... All the way around.
In 35 years I have never seen an ISU team flat out embarrass Iowa on the basketball court. Year #5 of Fran and we look like a team that is lost, has no athletic ability, and nobody who can create a shot.
Embarrasing ... ISU is toying with us... Wow
Seems like a good fit for Whisky. I am still not 100% sure how good of a head coach he will be but I think he can keep the same system running. I do wonder what it is like for these coaches with Barry looming in the office next door...
I think we see CJ no matter what. I would like to see him get the nod to see how he does. We need an injection of some excitement in this upcoming game. Tennessee is young... But hungry and athletic as heck. They are going to be ready to play.
I think we see a repeat of this season. Similar schedule... Will lose at ISU... Drop another game or two we shouldn't. I wish I could be more optimistic but this season sort of showed all this staff is capable of. If we can bring in a new OC that knows how to use the talent around him then maybe...
You never know the real reasons. I say kudos to him. Maybe he really did want to get back closer to home. Maybe he thought OSU is someplace he would like to end his career. Maybe some of it was Barry. Happy for him. Happy for any person who follows what they feel is right for them. He seems like...
Interesting because didn't this kid sort of go back and forth a bit about his commitment.... That he was still going to explore other options? His poor numbers this year are a head scratcher.
I think Brett is the most intriguing because he has coached at the major level. I would be much more excited about him then a MAC-level coach. The fact that Brett played at Iowa is also a factor ... in my book ... because he knows the fanbase ... he knows the expectations ... he knows the...
When I see things I often ask myself: "Isn't there someone who would see a preview of this and simply say 'uh, yeah, prez, maybe this isn't the hippest idea.'"? ... Not as bad as the Ames drinking water video ... but ... :)
A win does absolutely nothing for me in changing my mindset about the direction of the program. Any team can get up for one game ... Sure, it's nice to appear on ESPN ... against a known program ... but I can honestly say this is the LEAST excited I have ever been about Iowa appearing in a bowl...
Whatever Kirk is saying -- or not saying -- to his players behind closed doors ... whatever he says or does not say to the media ... the bottomline is the program is average now. We have fallen behind MSU, Nebraska, Wisky, Minnesota, possibly even Maryland ... We are more on par with...
I think the biggest letdown for me in all of Barta's comments is that he has it engrained in his head this is the Kirk and Gary show. Iowa football was around for years and years before either of them set foot on the campus and it will continue to exist once they both are long gone. And so it is...
It's a tough call. Some fans just like the chance to get away someplace warmer during the cold Iowa winters. I feel for the players because these are 18-21 year olds donning the black and gold. It's unfortunate for them because they are simply doing what was asked of them... Represent the...
