MSU gets a lot of calls that we don't. I just don't think that was one of them. I think that gets called a foul for any team. But I understand you thoughts and feelings on it. It's how I feel all the time when watching MSU.
I tend to agree. What worries me is before today our NCAA RPI was 40. I'm sure it's around 46-48 now. If we lose 1st round of the tournament we will probably be below 50. That's the bubble.
Last year Kentucky had an RPI of 55 and didn't make it
I don't think it was either, but he was fouling him so much with the hand checking that it made me wonder for a second. The ref didn't want to call the foul but had to. Mike didn't give him a choice.
You watch the replay? Mike was fouling him the entire time. You can't put your hand on the offensive player like he was.
I want to know his thought process on that.
The ref was actually letting Mike play. It looked like he was intentionally trying to foul as he put his hands on the Illinois player 3 times before it was actually called. Could have/should have been called a couple seconds earlier
I'm losing faith. We get beat in every second half. When was the last 2nd half we won? Also, why did he stop pressing? Why don't we push the ball like we use to? Why did Gesell foul?
Ridiculous. This team probably has to lose out to miss the tournament and they won't lose at home to Illinois or Purdue. I see them finishing 2-2 and winning 2 in the BIG tournament. 5-6 seed.
I've been arguing with my brother about this all year long. I think his loss is going to hurt us more next year than people think.
I hope whatever he has gets out of his system soon and we see him back on the court. We need him.
You do realize Jon has now apologized for accusing me of being him and said I wasn't that guy, right?
Anyway, I'm not worried about our team being tired. We got good depth and these guys could play nearly every day.
Those numbers seemed odd, so I clicked on the link. Big 12 was formed in 96 yet the stats go all the way back to 1980. I would hope the BIG would have more NBA draft picks with the extra years.
It's pretty even. One week it seems like its the BIG and the next it's the Big 12. This week I'll say BIG. Okie State and Baylor falling off a cliff hurts that conference. Ohio State and Wisky have struggled but haven't fallen off a cliff.
I took Paul's comments as simply a shot at the media and not at us or ND. Telling the media, that despite you guys wanting him to go here or here, he's going here instead.
Very petty.
I agree. He shouldn't play so much, but when he does play, I don't mind him shooting. Going into last night he was a 35% 3 point shooter. That's not bad.
I think this team has the size and depth to give teams and make the final four. But talent and toughness isn't there. This isn't an overly talented team. Really good talent and the sum of the parts is good, but we are still behind other teams in terms of top level talent.
