Fleck to Minnesota.....I'm gonna go puke now!!!

Fleck is going to do well and be gone in 2-3 years, or he's going to flame out, Howard Dean style. Either way, The Gophers will need another new coach before 2020.

The CTE Diaries, Zac Easter, Indianola

I've been waiting for this article to get published. I'll read it today. One thing to remember is that CTE isn't caused by just concussions. Repeated blows to the head, sub-concussive hits are mostly to blame. Avoiding concussions doesn't mean you are avoiding CTE. Such a tragic story.

    Miles...

Les Miles is 63 years old. He'd rather take a job somewhere he'll inherit a roster he can step in and win with right away.

Fleck to Minnesota.....I'm gonna go puke now!!!

Going 13-0 at Directional Michigan U is not a guarantee that he'll succeed at Minnesota, or anywhere else. I won't be heartbroken if/when Iowa replaces Ferentz, but jumping at an "up and coming" coach fails more often than not.

At what point do the players just say WTF?

I don't see attrition as that big of a problem. Iowa brings in a lot of 2-3 star guys who don't get developed into contributors. Those guys should be encouraged to transfer, rather than taking up scholarships that could go to someone else. This sort of thing happens everywhere. As for guys...

Howe: Tough Decision for Iowa’s Akrum Wadley

I think Wadley's best chance for success at the next level is returning punts and kicks. Maybe he can be an effective third down back in the right offense. He has the skills but not the size to be a feature back in the NFL. If he's considered a top 5 back now, he should go. He's not going to...

Will Mitchell/Wadley next yr be like Daniels/Wadley this year?

I'm shocked that Mitchell still has eligibility remaining. It seems like he should be 25 by now.

Miller in full apologist mode on Twitter right now

Yeah, because there's a lot of shame in finishing a season 11/12-2 and finishing ranked in the top 10. And the 2003 Orange Bowl was tied at halftime, 10-10.

In the event of a four way tie

The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie: (a) If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative. (b) If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 6 will be followed until a...

Poll: KF has turned into Steve Alford?

You must be young, because obviously Kirk Ferentz has turned into Tom Davis. Just about everyone hated Steve Alford. Mostly the people who are never satisfied with anything hated Mr. Davis.

!*****Official Superb Eyesight @ Choo Choo Game Thread*****!

We toyed with a bad team the whole day except for a 10 minute stretch we played the backups and were killing clock. Yeah, the starters came back in.....so what? if we played the starters the whole game and won 56-14, then we risk players getting hurt and the backups don't get much experience -...

!*****Official Superb Eyesight @ Choo Choo Game Thread*****!

You guys are idiots. When you're up big, you put in the reserves to get them experience for next year. Our backups aren't very good at the moment, so Purdue gets a few meaningless scores. We aren't going to lose this game. Stop being whiny crybabies.

“we don't like to be reactionary with our decisions.”

The whole quote puts that into better context. Q. Backups are always popular after losses. You look at a depth chart, and you see a fifth-year senior, Anthony Gair, at safety, and people are wondering what’s he not doing to be on the field. How close is he to being on the field? COACH FERENTZ...

    I'm very impressed with Dabo

Coaches have to put their players in a position to succeed. Dabo does that very well.

    Beth Mowins?

Beth Mowins is a competent but boring play-caller. Not much personality, but she seems to know her stuff. She's light years ahead of Pam Ward, though. Pam was a complete train wreck in the booth.

!****OFFICIAL IOWA/BEACHES OF OHIO GAME THREAD****!

Obvious call, and a cheap shot by Jewell. He should know better. Good thing we won't really need him today.

    Niang or Uthoff????

I don't think either will succeed in the NBA. But given a choice, I'd take Niang. Georges plays much better with the game on the line than Jarrod.

    Uthoff goes undrafted.....are you Serious?

Uthoff has a really unique skill set, but he's neither strong enough or explosive enough to succeed in the NBA, in my view. He's not fast enough to keep up with the 3s and not strong enough to play a 4. He'll make good money playing in Europe, though.
