    Is Nebraska ... overrated?

Nebraska reminds me of Michigan when Rich Rod was there. Rich Rod had a lot of success at West Virginia before coming to Michigan and was regarded as one of the top coaches in the country. There was a lot of hype from the national media. Colin Cowherd predicted Michigan would win a notional...

Michigan named Big Ten football favorite

Agreed. Ohio St still has the most talented team in the Big Ten, and its really not even that close.

    Iowa heatwave predictions

Be thankful you're not Amish. No A/C or fans and they wear those heavy shirts with long sleeves. Not sure how often they get a shower or bath either.

    All-Ferentz Team: Defensive Line

Nope. He played for Hayden. Time flies.

    All-Ferentz Team: Wide Receiver

Its a shame Mo Brown got hurt in 2003. He was just starting to reach his potential at the beginning of the seasonwhen he went down in the Iowa St game i believe. He came back for the bowl beatdown against Florida and showed how good he (and the team) could have been if he stayed healthy.

So you're saying once you go Blackstone, you never go back?

Belly Up To The Burger Bar

Red Robin barnyard burger for me. Another good place to go is the small northeast Iowa town of Gunder (north of Elkader) for a gunderburger. A whole pound of burger (pound and a half?) and it fills full sized plate. You almost have to eat it with a knife and fork.

    Alternate jerseys for Penn State

I'll second that. For years we've been making shit out of Oregon for wearing butt ugly hard on the eyes unis and now we do it. Of course the players say they like em. No one on the team is going to come out and say they're hideous, but I bet some are thinking it.

    Hogan/stanzi

What he says is great, but I'd feel better if I saw others saying that about Hogan rather than Hogan saying those things about himself. And maybe they have, I don't know. We all know people in this world that aren't as good, smart, influential, or as popular as they think they are.

One loss Michigan St got in in 2015.

Hypothetical "What would you give up for...?"

Theres a lot of possibilities, what ifs and maybes but I think the best way to make the playoffs with one loss would be losing to Iowa State.( I know, I know, I don't like it either). But if Iowa State lives up to preseaon rankings and finishes in the top 25, then an early season loss on the...

Iowa's biggest upset win in 2019 will be...

Over the last 4 years, Michigan has only won a total of 2 more games than Northwestern, yet many fans feel a win over the wolverines would be a huge upset, while they view the wildcats as a team Iowa "should" beat.

Iowa's biggest upset win in 2019 will be...

Michigan also has question marks at running back. Higdon left early for the NFL and the next guy in line is ineligible. I saw where they are down to incoming freshman and walk ons at running back. Remember the days of Bo and Lloyd Carr seemingly having an all big ten running back every year...

    Summer Pizza Thread

Happy Joes BLT has always been one of my favorites. Up in Wisconsin Dells they have two really good pizza places. I think they were called Moose Jaw Pizza and the Pizza Pub. Moose Jaw had a delivery car with a moose statue or figurine of some kind on top of the car.

Brian Ferentz Speaking in Des Moines

While I agree with your post, keep in mind that Bob Stoops had no previous head coaching experience when he took the OU job. When Hayden retired and every hawk fan wanted Stoops to take over, nobody was saying that he needed to get some head coaching experience before taking the Iowa job.

Hawks send their 3rd TE to the League this year

Not totally shocking when you think about it. When Hesse committed to Iowa, they listed him as an athlete. I saw him play in high school and he was a good QB for a very good Waukon team. I always thought he was more athletic than people realized.

For ISU to finish ranked 15th after the season, they probably need to go 10-3.The clowns will be underdogs against Texas and Oklahoma for sure. Iowa, Okie State, West Virginia, TCU, and a bowl opponent are probably tossups. Texas Tech, Baylor and Kansas State aren't gimmees either. I just don't...

20 Year Comparison - Hayden and Kirk

Pretty sure Iowa didn't play OSU in 81. Both teams finished 6-2 in the conference, but Iowa got the Rose Bowl berth since it had been longer since they had been there. That left Michigan as Iowa's only ranked big ten opponent that year.

20 Year Comparison - Hayden and Kirk

Bob Comings left Hayden more talent than most people realize. Mark Bortz, Jay Hilgenberg,Reggie Roby, Andre Tippet,Bob Stoops,Mel Cole, Dennis Mosley, Gordy Bohannon and others were on the roster when Hayden arrived. I give Hayden credit for knowing what to do with that talent, but the cupboard...
