    Stanley Is A Machine

Looks like Stanleys mechanics are very solid.

    Schwartz's Article - Dreamland

I agree. I've always felt like 2003 was the biggest "what might have been" in the KF era. Don't forget Jermelle Lewis tore an ACL before the season. Two starters went down on the O-line in David Walker and Brian Ferentz. You mentioned Mo Brown's injury. If IRC Ed Hinkel missed most of that...

    Hunter Johnson to Northwestern

I don't get why some people think marriage is unnatural. I've been married close to 25 years with no regrets. Do I notice if a hot woman walks by? Of course i do.But that doesn't mean I love my wife any less or I'm not happy in marriage. Why is it unnatural to want to make a commitment to...

Is Kirk Ferentz a Hall of Fame Coach?

The odd thing is that it seems like its easier to turn around a bad program than it is to maintain a good but not great program for a long period of time. Guys like Ron Turner, Ron Zook, Mark Mangino, Gary Barnett, Gary Pinkel and others were fairly successful for a short period of time, but...

Five Potential Breakout Players for Iowa Football in '18

With all due respect to Hayden Fry, we don't plan on punting this year.

Most Iconic Iowa Football Pictures Ever

No, instead of saying "that's football" after losing to a team he should have beat, HF said something like "the sun don't shine on the same dogs rump every day". More creative, but just as annoying to me.

Wasn't Phil Parker on the field for MSU on that play?

Poll: Is KF helping or hurting his legacy?

Its worth mentioning that the Big Ten was possibly as strong as it ever was in KF first two years at Iowa. In 1999 the final AP poll had 7 big ten teams ranked with 4 in the top 11. In 2000, 5 big ten teams plus Iowa St ended up ranked So I'm not sure Fry or Stoops would have done much better...

    KIRK THE DRAGON SLAYER

Actually, in 1992 Hayden lost the last game of the year to a bad Minnesota team with a birth in the copper bowl on the line. Not exactly the same, but comparable.

How Successful Would Ferentz be at a Alabama or Ohio State?

Another example is the Iowa basketball team this past year. They were statistically good offensively, but that was partly due to the fact that they were often down double digits and teams let up a little bit defensively against them.

How Successful Would Ferentz be at a Alabama or Ohio State?

I think you have it backwards. Teams don't usually play different when they are behind by a bunch, but rather the opponent plays softer when they have a big lead. This is true in almost every sport. In football for example, defenses will play softer coverage if they are up by three touchdowns...

    Noah Fant

Not sure I agree with Kipers prediction that Fant's numbers will go up in 2018. If I'm an opposing defensive coordinator, I would do whatever i had to to take Fant away and force someone else to beat me.

    Line on Iowa 7.5 Over/Under

I wouldn't sleep on Maryland. They were playing pretty good football at the start of last year before a rash of injuries hit and they were down to like their fourth string QB. Plus they've had solid recruiting classes the past couple of years. I'm not predicting an east division title, but it...

How do we get bielema to coach here?

Not sure Chryst was at Pitt long enough to know how successful he would have been there. As for Wisconsin, I would be willing to bet that Chryst will still be very successful after Barry retires.
