PSU - what is the key?

If Daryl Clark couldn't even play passably...I don't expect Bolden to be able to. If their OL couldn't block us last year and they just lost one of their best ones...I don't expect them to be able to block us this year. This isn't your father's PSU team, boyz...very pedestrian...

PSU - what is the key?

I heard Wisniewski sustained a serious injury in their game today? If that's the case (and probably even if it's not)...we win by 17, plus. PSU is a second division B10 team this year...

    Cal/Zona

Correct. Teams that lack discipline (and use emotion as a primary motivator) don't win championships. Hell, they almost lost this game simply because their safety wouldn't take a knee after his interception - he fumbled - but UA recovered. Between penalties, being stupid, & not coming ready...

Another Saturday, Another Game Ball for O'Keefe

The DOG penalty on the first drive was the refs fault. It was supposed to have been a 25 sec clock reset (instead of the standard 45 seconds between plays), because of the uncertainty going on on the far sideline regarding the down & distance. The ref even blew the ball 'in play' @ the 20...

    Some Hawk "fans" disappoint me

LO-effing-L! She obviously has no idea what you do with your time from Monday-Friday. I find it interesting that a guy that posts as much (and in as much detail as you) haven't convinced your wife that season tickets is something that's relatively important to you...

    Crappy weather Saturday

A big shout out to all the eastern Iowa meteorologists... 24hours ago they were still calling for sunshine & 72 degrees. Then it was late afternoon chance of showers last night. Now 55 degrees & rain probable. Job well done!!!

    Re-watched the game

And this is true to an extent. However, Arizona got penalized a bunch, because they have always been an oft-penalized team (Under Stoops anyway). Iowa's mistakes, otoh, are mistakes that are very much uncharacteristic of KF-led teams. We lost primarily because they OUTPLAYED us...not because...

Not good news on Hampton and Davis

Probably (hopefully?) a sigh or relief (i.e. negative MRI) rather than a sigh of exasperation... I don't know if Jewel would give a sigh of resignation or disappointment...

Not good news on Hampton and Davis

I'm assuming he's hurt, because it was painfully obvious that A-Rob wasn't getting the job done on pass protection on the final drive. And we've always used a single fullback to help with PP in those obvious passing situations...

    Monday Morning Quarterback

Clauss is the man. I hope he gives up his securities job at some point and joins the staff...

Not good news on Hampton and Davis

If that's the case for Saturday, then that would be exceptional news for what they think about the severity of Hampton's injury, imo. Because if Hampton is going to miss significant time, then you darn well better get the freshman some meaningful reps against BSU rather than waiting for the B10...

    Is Morse injured?

Didn't see much of him in the second half. Thought for sure we'd have seen him for extra Pass protection on the last drive...I assume he's dinged?

    Scalpers lament?

The hit will affect this weeks game & maybe (slightly) PSU. Should we keep winning - effective this week - the ticket market for Wiscy, MSU, & OSU will be largely unaffected.

It's better to lose early in the season.

Agree. That's of course looking wayyy too far ahead. The team will have a very difficult week of preparation this week as we are really banged up & mentally, I assume the hangover will be tough to overcome. But big picture, I expect this team to continue to stay plugged in & improve every...

    Stoops

Agree. As a coach, you have to pick your spots. Stoops was blowing gaskets on literally every play -- even on calls that were CLEARLY correct...

    Stoops

Stoops complained about virtually everything the other night. I've nicknamed him 'the human aneurism'. His team got penalized a bunch -- why? -- because they committed a hell of a lot of penalties. A couple of them were indeed borderline...However, the worst of the penalties was the penalty...

    Brandon Wegher, calling Brandon Wegher...

No, MRI results can be immediate if you have someone there to read the images.

Not good news on Hampton and Davis

Bruce's was after the play, he was pulling up to head back to the sidelines & he simply hyperextended his own knee. Having had 2 ACL's in the last year & a half, I can tell you that's how I did mine the first time...Sick to my stomach just thinking about it...
