    Why the constant Rudock loving?

There was plenty of bashing going on when it was announced that he was transferring, and it still hasn't stopped.

    Why the constant Rudock loving?

Maybe because he helped lead the team to a surprising 8-4 season in 2013? Some fans weren't thrilled with his check down tendencies going into last season, but he was at or near Jake Christensen levels of hate by the end of last season. It would have only gotten worse if he'd won the job this...

    Why the constant Rudock loving?

Nine months ago, hardly anyone outside the program even wanted Rudock on the team this season. But once he left, it turned into a Rudock bash-fest because he quit. Thus illustrating the no-win situation he was in. And Rudock was/is more than smart enough to realize that.

    Why the constant Rudock loving?

Rudock was left with a no-win situation at Iowa. Either he would be stuck on the bench, or he'd win the job and have to deal with the fanbase hating his guts because they wanted CJB. And that's not even mentioning the major distraction his continued presence would have brought to the team.

    Why the constant Rudock loving?

If every incoming senior who has two years of starting experience quit after being beat out, we wouldn't lose many players at all.

    Why the constant Rudock loving?

He was given every opportunity, he knew that, and he failed to win the job. The competition was over the moment Ferentz released that depth chart. Saying Rudock quit because he transferred after that is like saying the Cubs quit because they stopped playing after the Mets won four games in the...

    Gameday Ripping The Hawks

Most of the time when people rip on Iowa's schedule, they've been focusing on the last five games. Iowa's SOS coming into today was solid, but everyone knew it was going to plummet down the stretch, and that's what the pundits have focused on. If they're going to focus on the rest of the...

    Nate Meier??

Drew Ott says hello. The only reason Meier missing time would be a HUGE blow is because Ott is already out. If Ott were healthy and we were plugging Hesse into the other spot, it wouldn't be a huge deal.

IOWA IS 8-0 versus Maryland goes home crying game thread.

Bogus. Maryland ran for 250 on OSU and 240 against PSU. Their numbers were brutal against Michigan, but Hills also didn't play and he's done the bulk of the work in the last three games. Maybe he's actually pretty good at running the ball? The offensive line has definitely not looked good...

    JT Barrett Arrested for DUI

Or he knew that he was underage and would probably get checked, in which case blowing anything more than zeroes would get him busted.

    Gameday Ripping The Hawks

It won't be by the end of the season. Not even close.

    JT Barrett Arrested for DUI

This. He was far from hammered.

Do you really believe the Hawks are good enough to be a playoff team?

If Iowa were to make it and then flop in the playoff, nobody in the media will be talking about the B1G title game. They'll constantly harp on how they were right all along and Iowa didn't really belong. That's what recruits will hear, not that Iowa beat Ohio State. As for your second point...

If We played Ohio State 10 times, how often do we win?

I think the secondary would match up okay with OSU's receivers. Miller is an X-factor but other than him, there's no one in that WR group that scares you, and even he's been inconsistent.

Do you really believe the Hawks are good enough to be a playoff team?

I don't think this team is THAT good, and honestly, I think I would rather go to the Rose Bowl and play a team like Stanford. Getting owned in a playoff game doesn't help recruiting as much as a competitive game/victory in the Rose Bowl would. Win the Rose Bowl, and the national media basically...

Baylor QB fractured neck bone today.

You're misunderstanding the rule. A player can lead with his helmet, provided it's not directed at the neck/head of an opposing player. This is not an example of targeting, nor should it be. The targeting rule takes intent into account, and this was clearly not intentional.

Ohio St get's the ABC Prime Time Slot 2 straight weeks

Yeah, how dare a network advertise the game that it's carrying tonight? If it were Baylor-ISU in primetime, they'd be advertising for that game constantly, too.

There is only one team Iowa has to worry about!

Who we choose to focus on has no impact on the outcome of the games. If you want to take things one game at a time, be my guest. But it's not going to hurt anything if the rest of us "overlook" someone. Our attitude doesn't change the way the team approaches the games.

Minnesota game a Sell Out status at Kinnick

I'm buying my ticket tomorrow (have to sell a little more blood plasma for the last few bucks). This has been a lousy home schedule, but I definitely want to be there to see the Hawks get to 11-0 if they're in that position.

OT Cubs basically equal Iowa St football

The injury to Martinez very well could have. The Cardinals could have easily held a 2-0 lead if Martinez could have pitched Game 2.
