    Hawkeyes - Badgers game prediction

Wisconsin 28 Iowa 20 Wisconsin has an incredible defense this year. Forget about Gordon. Iowa will have a tough time moving the ball against the Badgers defense...similar to our problems moving the ball last season against Michigan State.

Miller: The Hawkeyes Have a Chance to Retake Something from Wisconsin

Excellent article Jon. I really enjoyed it.

We have Wisky right where we want them...

Wisconsin was unstoppable in 2004 as well. Highly ranked and obliterating their opponents. Iowa killed them. Gordon won't be stopped, but he can be slowed. Hold them to field goals and win the turnover battle. The defense will need their best game of the season. That is Iowa's only hope. If...

Melvin Gordon for 408 yds and 4 TDs

IIRC, he withdrew his commitment to Iowa after witnessing a fight between Iowa players in the locker room after the Ohio State loss in 2010. Also, I highly doubt that he would have been nearly as productive as a running back at Iowa because of the inconsistencies on offense.

Cornholers Being Blown out by Sconsin today

Gordon just set the FBS record for most yards in a single game...408. Unbelievable. It's like watching a video game with the opponent strength turned down to 30.

    This Doesn't Change Anything.

No doubt it was a little sloppy. When Illinois finally started moving the ball late in the game, Iowa had already done quite a bit of substituting on defense, so I can understand giving up some yards/points. Today the biggest story seemed to be the issues on 4th down. You could argue that...

If we beat Wisky and Nebby does that erase the 3 losses?

If Iowa somehow makes the championship game, it won't matter to me how many losses they have. This season has been so frustrating. My support of KF is at an all-time low. My confidence in GD went bankrupt in September....last season. We're on to the second foreclosure at this point. Even...

    This Doesn't Change Anything.

I'll be shocked if Iowa can slow Gordon or Abdullah. Worst run D in as long as I can remember. At least these games are at Kinnick. The Hawks have been hot and cold all season. They look "warm" again right now, so maybe they can crank that to hot and stay that way. It's long overdue.

Saw this on another site. Barta responds to a fan about Ferentz

A good athletic director would send a response like this. Not offensive to the recipient, supportive of the program, and positive overall despite the topic. A good athletic director would also be quietly polishing his "short list" of coaches to replace KF. A good AD would be keenly aware of...

A Kirk Ferentz petition site for removal has sprung up

I didn't sign the petition, but some of those statistics regarding his recent performance are just alarming and pathetic. I was a strong KF supporter until this year. His unwavering support of GD has cost him my loyalty. If Kirk thinks that his offense is actually acceptable, and that GD is...

    Who to blame...

While I'm disappointed in Iowa's run defense overall this season, I'm willing to give the defense a pass on this disaster. The offense was a turnover machine and could not put a drive together after that first one. I think Ruddock actually audibled to a sack at one point. That defense was...

    Post-game Press Conference with Ferentz

The KF "Brand" is ultra-conservative, risk-adverse football. There is nothing wrong with the pro-style offense. Outside of 2009 (which included a lot of close victories and 2 blocked punts vs UNI) that "brand" hasn't worked well since 2004. It would be nice of KF would bring his style into...

COACHES JUST DONT KNOW WHEN TO LEAVE

Gary Barta doesn't have the balls to make a change. Like Ferentz, he is going to ride this train right off the bridge.

    Here's a sobering thought.....

Here's another sobering thought... I woke up today and realized that Iowa's 51-14 loss to a crap Minny team was not a bad dream. KF is still the coach. GD is still the OC JR is still the QB. I still have season tickets for the last 2 home games. Ugh.

This is true. There was an article about it somewhere a while back.

Barta, Iowa Athletics Department, Hammered by espnW

Barta has proven to be a very good fundraiser, but the success of Iowa's athletic department under his leadership is absolutely pathetic. Least successful in the Big Ten.
