Heck, plenty of people were heading up the aisles when we were BEATING Michigan. I for one wanted to stick around and celebrate a little and savor the victory. I'm not going to smash TC on this, I'd like to see people stick around a little longer myself.

Fair points and understand. I think his value would seem far greater if we did have that great guard ahead of him that he spelled. When Michigan was pressing last night it sure seemed we didn't have a go to guy to get the ball to as the PG. Not sure why teams don't press us more... but glad...

I would agree on taking advantage of our 4 and 5 positions. We are trying to, but also have to be able to get past the pressure up front to deliver the ball to our scorers. It is great he can shoot free throws, put him in when we have a lead at the end. But he's shooting 35% FG for the year so...

Not picking on Connor, good kid. But that isn't really saying much when we don't have a really good PG to compare him to. Of course we are better with him than not having anyone. But we would be MUCH better with the quick PG we've all been clamoring for.

Yup, hate to simplify things but it really does boil down to the fact that until we get an ELITE guard we just won't be able to beat the big boys. But, this comment could just be put on repeat as we all know too well.

While I agree in game coaching isn't up to par with many of Fran's BIG counterparts, you hit the nail on the head when you said "Good" Players. That is the problem. We need an "ELITE" player or two, especially at the guard position (ask Dolph) to ever break through. We still have no team...

Really, the best thing I saw tonight is that when ISU threw their punch in the 2nd half and had some momentum we gathered ourselves and punched back with a little run of our own. Seen too many times where we never throw a punch back and just let the bleeding continue. Nice to see that last night.

Not to mention Rick Heller's program right now is one of the most advanced player development programs in the country. Could take him a long ways. He'll be a serviceable nice basketball player, not knocking him at all, he just isn't that lightning quick All Big Ten PG we've all been clamoring for.

Not sure what they are watching, but he never looked like a BIG PG to me in High School. A Big Ten Outfielder yes :) State Title Game last year also I didn't think Patrick looked the part. Didn't even know he was out there most the game.

Has anyone seen CJF play? I haven't, but I'd be shocked based on Fran's history if he was much better than any other mediocre guard we've had the last 8 years

In a perfect world, he would be off the ball spotting up for 3s but that would be with a PG who can penetrate and draw the defense in to kick out to him. Broken record... we still don't have that.

Understand, but an opportunity to prove it at the BIG level just thought might intrigue him.
