Thanks for reminding me, I was still in my 20's when KF was hired only had 1 kid at the time. Ended with 4 kids and my youngest can now buy his own beer.

Likely because of semester finals, people forget there are classes involved. But the first round is only 2 weeks after the conclusion of the conference championships. I don't think bowl games have anything to do with the CFP schedule. I could be wrong.

SEC probably thinks they get more of their teams into the playoffs with 11 at large.

Except they are not, the playoffs will keep expanding and having bowl games around will not stop it from expanding.

It's already dead, the bowl games are glorified exhibition games now with the athletes with NFL aspirations rarely participating. The last couple I've been too had a lot of empty seats. It does suck for the rest of the student athletes, coaches, band, and cheer squads as those trips were nice...

I'm still bitter PSU was allowed to keep their football team after what happened there. So I'm thrilled, I would love to see PSU at the bottom of the conference. But it won't last, too much talent on the east coast and in Pennsylvania for them to stay down very long.

Honestly it is the Power 2 right now. I just mentioned in another thread that the NC game should simply be the winners of the SEC & Big Ten championship games. It will never happen of course, these playoffs will be a huge cash cow for the NCAA.
