So... what Bowl Game is most likely

You throw in players who sit out the bowl games, which is the portal guys and guys who look to invest in their draft and you often have a very different team than what played in the regular season. With the CFP, the games become somewhat of a consolation prize for everyone else. However, I...

Iowa set for major early season test at National Duals Invitational

I like the kid. Endene too. My hope is a few of the wrestlers continue to progress and we can remain healthy. I will say the Brands' style of "iron sharpening iron" is definitely old school. I have questioned it's effectiveness. I suppose it takes a special type of wrestler that can stay...

    USC Loss

Maiava threw some dimes. And also threw the ball to places where his athletic receivers could high point catches. Maybe pressure alters this but him being able to stand in the pocket and eat a sandwich didn't make it easy on our secondary.

    USC Loss

What's been odd is Phil usually does well with in game and 2nd half adjustments. It's a bit odd that it hasn't seemed like he did as much the last two games. I assume it has a bit to do with the talent deficit and fear of the speed of the offense. In the Oregon game I noticed they slanted a...

Has There Ever Been A More Epic Collapse...

I think Fry pointed out a while ago, how Nebby football fans are often Creighton basketball supporters. Granted Creighton doesn't have a team so I get if they are Bugeater fans, but Nebby football fans I would think would be all in on the Mayor and his crew.

Has There Ever Been A More Epic Collapse...

Hiring after KF hangs it up will be very tedious. Do we hire someone that continues the culture and how Iowa does things? Phil will ride off in the sunset with KF. Do they have someone internally that will lead the same way as KF? Or do they bring in a new face and see what they can do? I say...

    USC Loss

Speaking of the offense, since the announcers were busy glazing Lincoln Riley and USC the whole time I guess I didn't realize Dunker, Stephens and Pieper were all out. Any update how significant their injuries are? That is somewhat telling of our ineffectiveness in the 2nd half.

Iowa set for major early season test at National Duals Invitational

Doesn't Iowa have a pretty decent 2026 recruiting class coming in with some decent kids? Not saying that means a thing, and with the ability to decommit and go elsewhere, until a kid is on campus and shows his ability, I suppose it doesn't matter.

    USC Loss

It can be maddening, but I think when you run up against teams with superior skill set and talent, Phil tends to game plan a safer approach attempting to negate the speed. What I saw that hurt us is you have a QB making NFL type of throws and throwing the ball to the apex where his receivers...

Iowa set for major early season test at National Duals Invitational

Yeah, Idk....he didn't wrestle well and what his style he normally wrestles. It also sucked we had to forfeit at HWT. I'm chalking it as too early but I think this year some teams are going to be stacked. Every weight is going to need to step up.

Iowa set for major early season test at National Duals Invitational

I thought that some of our guys underperformed. Caliendo didn't seem to wrestle as well as I would have thought. Ayala too. Although, I was impressed with Block and Ferrari how they competed. I think it's going to a work in progress this year. And much like stated above, Iowa could slip even more.

Agreed. They were glazing USC all game long. Horrible.

    Nil money, interesting look

Exactly. Does not include sponsorship money and so forth or direct payments or etc to the player. This is basically only NIL money. Huge difference. I think I posted a couple weeks ago, I posted totals for both NIL and sponsorship. Quite a difference. Oregon was somewhere around $940 million in...

    Tough Loss

That's the thing, we could scenario this thing til it's dead. But I will say, KF has rolled the dice more than what I thought he would. A 4th and 1 at midfield that Gronk did a sneak on. That's usually not a KF call. But there were plays were plays we left out there. Gronk admitted after the...

    Tough Loss

It's frustrating for sure, but anyone who has been around this program knows this is our style of play. What one thing I took away from this game was that our offense is starting show more capability. Marching 93 yards in the 4th quarter when we needed it against a defense ranked just behind...

    Tough Loss

My son and I talked quite a bit on the ride home. Maybe we were coping....LOL. However, a few mistakes were the difference even with the talent disparity. While I was frustrated with the inability to stop the run, I get what Phil had to do. He picked his poison per se. The safety was an...

    Indiana and Oregon

You are not wrong. But that tells alot about our program and the coaching staff. This is nothing new for our program. Well known for taking 3 star kids and coaching them up. What it does do though, is makes our margin for error very slim in games like this.

Duck Hunt at Kinnick Slaughter...Fly High, Hawks

Definitely. It really comes down to what you spoke of. While frustrating in some aspects due to the self-inflicted mistakes, I was still proud how we battled all game and to see the offense march 93 yards for the go ahead touchdown was awesome. Kinnick exploded when Gronk crossed the goal line...

Duck Hunt at Kinnick Slaughter...Fly High, Hawks

Spot on. The missed tackles was frustrating, but your assessment was correct. Their line was getting to the second level which sprung them.

Duck Hunt at Kinnick Slaughter...Fly High, Hawks

    1. The safety 2. The Wetjen fumble 3. The infamous heel tap on 2 point conversion KF said it and it's been a cliche forever about the game being a "game of inches" and that was exactly it. Iowa drug Oregon into a street fight and did what they needed to do. Unfortunately, Iowa also operates...
