Can Joe Weiskamp be the second coming

Damnit, I didnt realize I was in the football forum. Sorry, if someone can move this to the basketball forum that would be great!

Can Joe Weiskamp be the second coming

of Chris Street? I know...it's a ridiculous comparison at this stage of his career and not fair to Chris's legacy or Joe. The comparison I'm trying to make isn't about playing style or ability, however. Coincidentally on the anniversary of Chris's death, I've been thinking a lot this week, about...

Five Hawkeyes Ready to Take Next Step in 2018

Hadn't heard that about Bryan. Explains why I heard nothing of him all season. Thanks Rob! I'll standby for future articles.

Five Hawkeyes Ready to Take Next Step in 2018

Any dark horses, you're willing to speak about Rob? I know Young and IKM got most of the carries behind Wadley and Butler, but I'm curious to see Kyshaun Bryan. Without much experience coming back at this position, it would seem the door is open for anyone to get snaps. He had big time offers...

SI Projects Garza at 7.7 PPG & 4.4 RPG

Currently getting 10 and 6 and is our 4th highest scorer, averaging 17 minutes a game. The competition has noticeably dictated his stat sheet. Will be interesting to see how he and Dailey do tonight.

    Dailey

I don't think that's crazy honestly. But he's probably better coming off the bench, in order to provide depth at the one.

    Dailey

I feel like this dude could play a critical role as the season moves on. I've been impressed with his play. His ball handling, quickness, and even his shot appear to be fairly solid. He carries himself well and appears to have confidence in his ability. It seems as though Fran might be agreeing...

CBS has Jackson going #13 in draft...

I would imagine if he's projected anywhere between 1st and 3rd round he's gone. Given the kid is set to graduate and is in his 4th year in the program, what else is there for him to accomplish? Unless he's one of those very rare cases, where a guy just wants to hang around and be with his...

    tyler cook

I'm down on TC right now. Obviously he's an unbelievable athlete, but I expected him to make a bigger jump between this season and last. Unless he's within 5-7 feet of the bucket and can get a clear dunk, he's turnover prone or taking a low percentage shot. Right now he's Reggie Evans 2.0 and...

Anyone else thinking give Dailey a shot at Point?

Yeah, I like Dailey so far. To me he's an upgrade offensively from Williams, in terms of ball handling, shooting, and penetration. I haven't noticed how well he is on the other end of the floor. The line up with he and Ellingson oddly, seemed the most fluid.

Hawkeye Slide Continues with Lopsided Loss at Indiana

To me this team looks like a bunch of guys with no confidence, no chemistry and no leadership on the floor. Add the fact that they're missing a talent piece to that equation and you've got no one to go to, when it's time to make a play or get in someones face, when they need to nut up on D...

This is gonna be a LOOONG season

I'm just curious what everyone saw going into the season, that helped create these lofty expectations, that are now pissing everyone off? I agree the defense has got to get better, but they only gave up 79 points to a superior athletic team last night. 17 points in the 2nd half and lack of...

Schwartz: What Did We Learn About Hawkeye Football? Not Much

I'll have to agree to disagree with the author or this article. We have a 1st year OC We have a new offensive system We still have one of the worst WR corps in the Big Ten - Although a slight upgrade from last year. We started a true sophomore QB in his first year of starting We started a RS...

Weather for the game vs OSU

We don't want to play in a box with OSU. We need to get the passing game going, in order for anything to open up. Rain won't help our chances of that at all.

Let this one sink in will ya....

Some times you have to accept the reality. Iowa isn't OSU. They never have been and never will be. It doesn't mean I like it or want to accept it, but it's the reality. I'm guessing none of us here, have as much money as Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. Nor will we ever..It doesn't define us...

    Late arriving parking

It's Homecoming, otherwise I would say with certainty that Finkbine will have open spots. I always have an easy time finding a spot on the backside of the old Olive Court grass lot in a University Heights residence. Try coming in the backdoor down Sunset, to Benton, to George St and try finding...

    Malik Williams to Louisville

Ha! Yeah, right! They'll be given clemency as long as they cooperate with authorities. Especially when threatened by the idea of prison time for tax evasion. You suppose these gifts were reported as taxable income? I doubt it. The sad part is that some may never get sniffed by other schools, if...

Tate v Stanley Through First Five

Interesting. I think the comparisons between the two end there, but still good perspective for those that may have doubt about Stanley. Drew could make plays with his feet, that Stanley doesn't have naturally and had better accuracy. I think Nate has more natural ability as a pocket passer and...

Stanley & Wadley Interviews from Tuesday

I love Akrum's interviews. You can tell he wants to say, so much more. Proud of him that he doesn't though. Hope he has success at the next level.

    Kinnick - Game Atmoshphere

Glad to hear it was as loud as I hoped it was. I've been a season ticket holder for 6 years and Kinnick is sacred ground to me. The crowd never disappoints. Not sure if it's the fact I'm pushing 40 or that I'm now starting to take my kids to games, but I get emotional every time the team walks...
