    CBS Bet On Minnesota Game

Yes, they might have more to come from than we do. And, I like our chances in Kinnick. Minnesota has not won a road game this year.

    CBS Bet On Minnesota Game

We don't have a great history following big wins like last week, at least in recent years.

Oh to have a QB who can run

Iowa scored on every second half possession against Penn St. except for the final drive kneel-down. And they threw the ball twice, completing both of those throws. Kinda tells you all you need to know about Gronowski.

    Keegan Murray...

If a bank is making a loan of that size to a new venture, it almost always has a guarantor on the loan. It would make a lot of sense that that guarantor would be Keegan. No insight on that but just a guess. If the loan were to go bad, the guarantor would be responsible.

Oh to have a QB who can run

Chad Leistikow said on his podcast that Gronowski indicated in interviews Tuesday that the knee is bothering his throws. Getting better but still not 100%. He hopes that the bye week will get him closer. You can believe that or not.

    Hawkeyes And The Playoff Picture

Yeah, 9-3 will not get us in, even if we were to beat Oregon and lose to USC. I can't really think of any 9-3 team that would be playoff worthy.

Oh to have a QB who can run

I agree that Lester has been creative in the run game. And I would add, he has had some good pass play calls that didn't work out. I go back to the last drive against Indiana, he had the perfect screen/halfback pass called to the left to Molton. Unfortunately the throw was off and it...

Updated Hawkeye NCAA Stats & Rankings

I am with you 100%. He has a good year every other year. The other years, he has struggled. I hope he can get his head straight moving forward but I don't have any confidence when he lines up for a kick right now. But if you are Lavar Woods, not sure you can trust the guy behind him who is...

Oh to have a QB who can run

I'm too lazy to look it up but Gronowski was never a high percentage passer even when he was at SDSU. Maybe you are right about still getting over the shoulder surgery but I think it is also a) still getting used to the system and b) not a super accurate thrower to begin with. But he is a...

    To defer or not??

That is a nice summary of your analysis. With the bolded part, this relates even more to Iowa. Our offense isn't really the type of offense to come out firing on all cylinders. It just seems to me when you have a very good defense, and a pretty slow starting offense, why not defer?

    Receiving stats

So true. Gronowski is a winner. If you want style points you are probably going to be disappointed. But I will take the W any day of the week. Is he 100% accurate on his passes? No. Does he miss open receivers sometimes? Yes. But he does what is needed. If you are disappointed in our...

    2 pt Conversions

For all of Gronowski's good traits, he is not accurate on those types of throws. Bad play call, IMO.

    Around the B1G

Are you sure Chad L posted this? I am not on X but this says "To: Chad Leistikow". Is he writing this to himself? And it doesn't sound like anything that he would write.

    2 pt Conversions

We are not built to have a high success rate on two-point conversions. Which is why I asked before we ran the first one, why are we doing this? Once we missed it the first time and with the score what it was, you are almost forced to go for it the second time. It's easy to second guess and I...

    Still in shock!

I thought the two long runs from Gronowski were just good runs by him. What I was shocked at was how the Penn State defense completely blew it on the two bootleg runs he had. On the first one, he scored an easy touchdown and the other sealed the win. On both plays, not one defender stayed...

    Peacock

I watched the replay today. It was 2 hours 27 minutes and there were zero commercials. It skipped over all of them and I did not have to fast forward through anything. It did have some of the halftime show but again, none of the commercials. That was a nice surprise.

    To defer or not??

I would rather have them defer. Our defense usually takes one drive to adjust to the game so get it over with. Also, I like getting the kickoff to begin the 2nd half. And if you're lucky, you scored a TD or a FG with under a minute left in the 1st half and that builds real momentum.

    Cignetti's Off The Table...

The more top level coaches that get these types of extensions, the more the pool shrinks to Matt Ruhle. Marcus Freeman will be the next announcement of a big extension and raise. Ruhle does have to close out the year on a positive note to make himself more attractive, or at least plausible to...

    Ethan Grunkmeyer...

The Iowa fans will remember that game and the effect they had on the outcome. Especially in the North end. I look for a loud and rowdy stadium Saturday night.
