Logan Thomsen (Union Laporte City) a Hawkeye

i agree. i think we're seeing hard work beat talent much less than we did years ago. College teams have raised their training level across the board in my opinion. Which has hurt Iowa.

Here's his whole rant. long read, but worth it “This is horrible. This is why I have this job, ‘cuz for a moment like this for me to explain to you guys how important of a sport this is. I am a wrestler, it’s in our DNA. When you sweat, when you grind it out in those wrestling rooms, when...

i agree. i really want to watch he and Humphrey go at it. I'm curious if they'll open up since they know each other so well or if it will be wrestled pretty cautious. i would guess the later, but i hope not.

Metcalf will have a few battles on his hands. could have to wrestle Kellen Russell then Oliver just to make the finals. both will be no push over

    Doug Miner

surprises me he's coming to iowa. w/ Lux, clark, Gillman doesn't seem like there is a lot of room to crack into that line up any time soon. with all that depth i imagine they didn't give him much $$ at all. seems like he could've found a spot w/ a better chance to crack the lineup sooner, but...

My WAAAAY too early 2013-2014 NCAA Wrestling Predictions

Has Clark ever beaten Garrett? not arguing, just curious. i was really impressed with Garrett this year. that kid is tough. Obviously Clark's win over Delgado was a great win, but it creates an unrealistic level of expectations for most Iowa fans i think. Clearly clark is going to be in the mix...

    2013-14 Pound for Pound

he's had trouble in the past but if you watch the Flo videos or follow him on twitter a change in his diet helped him out a ton this year. but after the finals Ryan talked about he, hunter, and Heflin all moving up. which would probably create a domino w/ tessari and demas, etc as well.

    2013-14 Pound for Pound

So I thought it’d be fun to come up w/ a pound for pound top ten for going into next season. Figured it’d give us something to talk about in the offseason. I didn’t have any real system for the rankings, just basically went off a mixture of resumes and what my eyeballs told me when I...

Attention wrestling fans: vote for the Dan Hodge Trophy winner

oh yeah, Dake has to get it for sure. no doubt. but i just think that some times how good steiber is gets lost in the shuffle of dake/taylor/ruth/etc. Steiber is going to end w/ one helll of a career. top 5 all time probably.

Columnist: Wrestling needs to rethink its calendar

as a spectator yes, as an athlete/coach no. I know for a fact most coaches would prefer the season does not get extended. many would say shortened. i'm fine with how it's run right now. we've gotten more and more coverage by ESPN each year. i don't think moving away from basketball would...

Attention wrestling fans: vote for the Dan Hodge Trophy winner

over dake?? really? i think you could make a strong argument to put even stieber in front of ruth. he only had 5 matches that didn't end in a pin or tech. that's pretty crazy, even with missing those few weeks.
