If they went to that pod system I wouldn't mind Iowa being in with OSU and Michigan. I miss the ole days when there were just 10 teams in the conference and they played almost everyone in the conference. You can't beat the best if you don't play the best. Drag their asses into Kinnick every...
It's like I keep saying over and over the difference between the 2 divisions is Ohio State as they've been head and tails above everyone else in the conference for the past decade+. You put Ohio State in the West division and that balance shifts.
Hopefully the addition of USC and UCLA will...
Based on that Iowa has the best record against the East in the West division.
But that's probably because Iowa faced Rutgers 1 more time than Ohio State!!!!!
Perhaps they are better judging QBs than WRs although KF did say Jones was having a really good spring before he transferred. The difference between your WR claim and the QB situation is we have evidence at how awful Padilla looked when coming in for Petras. I gave Padilla a pass for the OSU...
I'm curious but if KF says Petras gave them the best chance to win and when Petras wasn't available he turned to Padilla, who looked horrible, I can't imagine how bad Labas must be when he was the 3rd string in that mess.
Ok, so we are talking a difference between being ranked 44th and 16th out of 131 teams. This year Iowa has a 2.19 SOS which is considered to be better than Michigan at 1.36. Hell Northwestern is 3rd with a 4.6. Seems hokey.
In that scale, yes it does so let's sub out Ohio State and assume every game was a loss (which I doubt) so add 5 more losses and subtract 5 wins from that 10 year record. Now Iowa is ranked below MSU and PSU, does that make everyone happy?
I was disagreeing with his "Charmin Soft" comment...
You are exaggerating with the "Charmin soft" statement, yes Iowa has had an easier schedule over the past 10 years than 11 of the other conference members but if it's using the NCAA SOS ratings there isn't a crapload of disparity between a 3.11 SOS rating and a 5.4. This year a 5.4 rating is...
But it's not fair to dismiss it entirely based on SOS, Iowa has the 4th highest win percentage over the past 10 years by beating the teams they were supposed to beat (usually). I get why you want to discount the accomplishment based the SOS (which is fair) but Iowa has no control over the Big...
Me too and no matter how you divide the conference only 1 division can have Ohio State so it's always going to be unbalanced and whichever division you put Ohio State in you pretty much have to put Michigan with them so they play every year. Unless they go back to that stupid protected rival...
Just 2 years ago there were NFL rumors flying around. Fitz should have taken advantage while he had the chance. Being a HC can be very fickle, most fans have short term memories and can turn quickly. We see it on this board all the time.
Those of you apologizing did any of you watch the Nebraska game? Padilla did not look like a Big Ten caliber quarterback and I can see why KF said they were putting the QB out there that gave them the best chance to win.
But I do question the coaches decision to recruit him in the first place...
