Ankeny Receiver Brody Brecht Commits to Hawkeyes

I like to think some of these recruits have the bigger picture in mind. Arland Bruce had a good quote where he said he hears the “Iowa doesn’t throw to WRs stuff” but said that if you actually look at the numbers last year they were throwing the ball and spreading it around to multiple WRs. Is...

Ankeny Receiver Brody Brecht Commits to Hawkeyes

Iowa killing it on the recruiting trail at the expense of Nebby and ISU. Beautiful weather and it’s Friday. I suppose I can drink to that.

Ankeny Receiver Brody Brecht Commits to Hawkeyes

It sounds like he is fairly close with Keagon Johnson, who some are speculating is an Iowa lean now, despite him being a Husker legacy. Some Nebby fans feel if Johnson goes to Iowa that’s the nail in the coffin for their chances with Fidone. Who knows though.

Ankeny Receiver Brody Brecht Commits to Hawkeyes

Iowa State about to go 0/10 on the top 10 instate kids this year. Swung by CF to read some fun. Most are disappointed in the recruiting efforts, some attribute it to these kids growing up Iowa fans, and then CyTwins is rambling on about how Brock Purdy is the #3 QB in the mock drafts behind...

Family Connection Makes Hawkeye Offer Even More Special for Tyler McLaurin

Good looking prospect but I think Iowa is in good shape at LB with (Harrell, Twedt, Sullivan (might move to Dline))

Ankeny Receiver Brody Brecht Commits to Hawkeyes

Iowa is rolling on the recruiting trail right now. Love Brecht’s size and he seems to run pretty well.

    With all our grad./early departures,

Here’s some optimism on the DE spot. Obviously we can’t replace AJE however here is how I see it. Phil Parker has gotten much more creative with his pass rushing packages in recent years. Golston is very good against the run and I believe Waggoner and/or ZVV will be as well. The goal is to stop...

Kansas City-Area Receiver Arland Bruce IV Picks Hawkeyes

I’m super high on this WR group. Brandon Smith was starting to look like a real star prior to his injury then he goes down and Tracy goes for 88, 130, 77 in the next three games. ISM goes for 121 the following week against Illinois and follows that up with 5 TDs over the final two games of the...

    With all our grad./early departures,

I would much rather lose to Iowa State than Wisconsin or Minnesota. The only way we have a shot at the West this year is if we sweep Wisco and Minny and even then it will be tough.

    With all our grad./early departures,

Not sure I agree on the Oline thing. I thinks it’s possible we can be slightly improved from last year but I’m not sure what that says. Linderbaum is a stud, Alaric could be but hasn’t been anything over just decent thus far. Cronk should be solid (but no Wirfs) and still no proof that we have...

HN's Full Rundown of Fran's Presser Today

So with a good ACC opponent, hopefully a Gavitt games matchup, and Iowa State plus a 20 game conference slate the schedule should be fine. Maybe a good opportunity to get some more minutes for the freshman who don’t end up redshirting.

HN's Full Rundown of Fran's Presser Today

Not saying I agree but maybe Fran and co see this as an opportunity to get some of the freshman who don’t redshirt some run and experience. Toy with some different lineups before the brutal conference schedule. Just a thought. @RobHowe are we back in the gavvit games?

Kansas City-Area Receiver Arland Bruce IV Picks Hawkeyes

Brandon Meyers as well. Had a nice NFL career.

Kansas City-Area Receiver Arland Bruce IV Picks Hawkeyes

My question is will Iowa take Johnson, Brecht, Bell and Bruce? I think the staff considers Bruce kind of a hybrid player so it’s possible. I also heard on TOS that Keagan Johnson is pretty close with Fidone. Pretty good times right now on the recruiting trail.

Top Tackle Target Beau Stephens Enjoying Tight Bond with Iowa

I don’t think Alt will be walking on. He’s got offers from Minnesota, Kansas State, and Missouri. Tough to pass up a scholarship. Mylinski would be icing on the cake and I do think we get him. Think I read something that he used to live next to Eric Steinbach and he watches Brandon Scherff...

Howe: Who's Next? Looking at Future NFL Draft Picks from Iowa Football

Good stuff. I saw a top 100 list that included Linderbaum. I too think he will stay at least thru his RS junior year (2021-2022). Imagine if we had two WRs selected in the same draft. That would be pretty good for us and hopefully for our recruiting efforts there. ISM with his special teams...

STORY: Hawkeyes Land Commitment from OL David Davidkov

I hope so. Seems like we have been more focused on lighter quicker guys in recruiting and development. Minnesota had a massive offensive line last year and Wisconsin always has. Would like to see some big boys in there wearing on people.
