The year that BJ made his one NBA All Star appearance todays high school senior was 2 yrs old. The last year BJ played in the NBA that same kid was 7. He wasnt even alive when BJ played at Iowa. BJ = Great Guy but really not that well known to the kids he'd recruit.

You do understand that interviews are a 2 way street. The coach has to want to take on the task. Anyone else have the feeling that when it comes to Iowa B-ball we've sort intentionally or unintentionally dug ourselves a BIG HOLE!

Here are a couple of reasons why he might not: 1. Population of Tenn 6.2 million vs 3 million in Iowa 2. Number of players who went to the NBA from Tenn 28 number from Iowa 19 Not the only reasons for a decision but a couple possibilities.

Here's mine: 1. A proven winning record at a high level 2. Ability to recruit and keep quality players 3. Someone who gets Iowa and its culture 4. Somebody who can live in Iowa City Many of the names being mentioned wouldnt fit my criteria. Whats yours??

I'm not saying he's the one and certainly someone will jump on the fact that he is at a mid major school.....but other than the hiccup at Arkansas he's been steady as a rock ( 16 yrs @ Creighton) a significant winner and definitely understands the challenges of small state recruiting...in his...
