    isu countdown clock

Clown - "Let's see, it takes me about 3 minutes to impregnate a sow after which I need to rest for an hour and 57 minutes. So, if I take 192 days and divide that by 2 hours, and consider that each impregnated sow will have about 7-8 clown pigs, the answer is approximately 25,000 pigs."

    isu countdown clock

They should have a clock that counts down to the day the clowns have a relevant football program. It wouldn't cost much, as they could just paint an infinity symbol on it and leave it there.

    Amway Coaches Poll Week 2

How many How many votes did they get? Because whatever that number is, that's your answer.

OC BF needs to figure this passing game out

He's a weapon, but not yet a security blanket. Good thing MVB and Easley E are more sure-handed .

Epenesa only in on 3rd Downs

This. They played at least 8 deep. I thought the way the moved Matt Nelson around was interesting. And even Brady Reiff was flashing, looking like a modern day Tyler Luebke! As far AJ being the most talented, it depends what you mean. He certainly the most physically gifted. I'd say he's...

    Who's In / Who's out

Really nice to see Mabin and Croston make rosters. Hawkeyes were undervalued in the draft this year. King, Kittle, and Jaleel have all greatly outperformed their draft position.

Epenesa only in on 3rd Downs

I think Epenesa should and will get more snaps by the time we are to that point in the schedule. Whining about it now just makes you seem silly. Our "slight edge" this year will be our overall DL depth and ability to keep people fresh, not just a true frosh. AJ is a big part of that depth...

Epenesa only in on 3rd Downs

Or maybe he blows his gap and allows for a long TD run. Hard to say what would happen when it didn't happen. But I can say that the Iowa defense destroyed Wyoming today while using AJ, Hesse, etc. the way they did.

Epenesa only in on 3rd Downs

I think we will see more of him as the year goes on, but I think you are grasping at straws of what was a great team defensive showing today. AJ's got a role that will grow, but Hesse's not chopped liver. He plays the run very well.

Epenesa only in on 3rd Downs

They are obviously easing him in. Even on 3rd and short, they kept either Hesse or Nelson out there. They basically told him to go out there and bend the blindside on 3rd and long, and he did a pretty damn good job of it today.

    GAME BALL

Josh Jackson really played well. Josey Jewell might have been even better, but Jackson really stepped up and filled King's shoes.

    Alll of the yards.

Oregon - Michigan State - Notre Dame

MSU was 3-9. I think all three programs made the wise decision in their respective circumstances. Helfrich was proving to be unable to keep the program on track, falling hard and fast from the heights Chip Kelly had established. The biggest thing was that recruiting was falling short of where...

    D Line Mysteries

I think we see a traditional base of Hesse/Lattimore/Bazata/Nelson, with a liberal rotation of the other nelson and Eppy playing both inside and out. In passing situations, I think we see 3 or 4 DEs on the field. Would be great if Hesse could develop into an undersized DT a la King/Kroul/Klug...

Hawk's last over seas game today at 12:30

Garza's ft shooting is a welcome sight. His abuluty to play through contact and convert the ft makes him unique on this squad, and gives him more of a chance to play late un the game than our recent bigs.

The were touch sacks, but there was more than a dozen.

    Any observations from Kids Day?

He was playing, and playing well. Had 3-4 "sacks" playing with the 1s and 2s.

Kelton Copeland Working on Rebuilding Hawkeye Receiver Position

You omitted Willies. That 2013 class was supposed to be the year we loaded up with the kind of guys Davis wanted. In the end, the only one that worked out was Meerkat, the least heralded of the group. That and Scheel's health has been devastating.

CFB Matrix Contributor says analytics like Iowa

It's going to be glorious. Would not be surprised to see him gone by next year.

    Linebacker Angelo Garbutt Leaving Hawkeyes

Not too surprising. He wasn't going to start over Jewell, didn't seem to be working out as OLB, and didn't seem like he was going to be moving ahead of Hockaday or Amani Jones for the next group of LBs starting next year. If he didn't want to stick around for his time, more power to him for...
