I don't see iowa winning all 3 from 65-84. i think they lose one of those and then i think Burak gets majored which would bring it to 17-16 hawks. gonna be a great dual. can't wait to go.

Yeah i could easily see that in this situation AF. if he called 1 i would've had no problem with it at all. but if it happened in the middle of the mat reversal is about all you can call. hopefully in March there are some take downs and a definitive winner.

But think of the alternative. if you call it 1 escape all they do is lift the guy adn it's a TD, that'd be total BS to get basically 3 pts for a reversal. and you can't really say the top guy is still in control and leave riding time when the other guy is completely behind him and controlling...

I thought Taylor wrestled a much more conservative match than Dake did. He never hit one legit shot and was clearly riding in the 2nd period just to build up riding time in my eyes. Not his typical style at all.

I disagree. it was an aggressive call by the ref (which i'm fine with) but he is clearly behind both arms w/ the inside leg in as they go out of bounds. you don't have to bring him to the mat there to score the 2. if you are behind your opponent, it's 2. Also, at the end from that camera angle...

I never said that. i think he'll be in the running for a national title for sure next year. The statement that "there is no doubt he will be better than McD" at this point, is laughable. to say there is no doubt a kid who has yet to wrestle a varsity match will be better than a probably 4 time...

So Dennis is using one of the 5 iowa invitations? that seems odd. i'm sure he could've gotten his own if he wanted. plus why not send another young guy.

it definitely won't be our top 5 guys. if that was the case they would've just entered the whole team. They will be in a training phase preparing for tOSU. i would guess it'll be young guys and possible a guy or two still fighting for starting spots if that hasn't been fully decided by that point.

that's a pretty good list. hard to argue too much with it. i think it's pretty accurate although i'd take scarpello off. what's crazy if you think about the guys not on this list terry brands, alger, McD (although he'll probably be added later) McGinnis, Ed banach etc, etc etc. it's wild.

You do realize if colleges dropped athletic programs cuz they don't make money every single men's/women's teams in every sport would be dropped except about 1/2 of the football programs and 1/4 of the basketball programs. and youth and high school participation #s would suggest wrestling is...

oh i'm not writing him off. i just dont think guys that compete for national titles take losses like that. I know he'll develop in the room and get better. but i was just shocked at the way he competed.
