I don't really have a problem scheduling smaller schools. but there are plenty of smaller schools that would put up more of a fight than that, be of more value to iowa, and be significantly more interesting/entertaining for the fans. that's all.
Waste of a date. seriously, what's the point of that. it's during the day while people at work so the fans can't go. the hawks average match was a first period pin. what does iowa gain from this? confidence? no. you don't get confidence pinning someone significantly worse than you. why not...
Exactly. Clark could have an amazingly successful career and still not match what McD did. look at how tough Ramos is and his resume is far below McD. An argument could be made that you'd have to go back as far as McIlravy to find a hawk w/ more recent success than McD. that would include quite...
If he transferred that'd be crazy. Wisconsin, ISU, OTC, Neb and he hasn't even wrestled a match yet. or used an eligibility! the kid is a nomad. that being said, i'd welcome him w/ open arms.
doubt it. looks like Okie state. His high school coach said it's always been between those two schools. Weird thing is, it sounds like it's more PSU changing their mind than Chance. what a crazy situation. it'll be interesting to see how this shakes out for sure.
You know if they have success that they'll do one in Iowa. imagine how many cool matchups they could have. you could of course have metcalf, mcdonough, borschel, keddy. but even older guys like Schwab, jergens, maybe even Terry would do it. that'd be awesome. they'd get a huge crowd.
taking place in michigan. lotta guys with michigan ties-reader, bennett, simmons, russell, metcalf.
I really hope AGON makes it. like a lot of fight cards some matchups are more interesting than others. but the fact that there could be an avenue for guys to continue competing after college is...
oh i'm sure he doesn't. i'd love to see another rematch, but i understand why they aren't interested in it. either way, we get great matchups at 41 and 49 at the all star dual.
i'm actually excited to see maple/ steiber. don't get me wrong, i'd love watching Ramos too, but we've seen how that plays out several times at this point.
No, that's the point. it's basically a total stall move. It ends in a stalemate 99% of the time and the bottom guy just has to lay there getting choked out until the ref stopped it. i'm very happy they have taken that away. Ruth does it w/ a cradle in that position so it's different.
yeah the rule in Situation #3 doesn't happen much. slide by situations i suppose. but i still don't care for it and frankly i'm surprised it was even brought up as a rule change. but whatever. I like all the other ones. they seem logical.
i like them for the most part. Not really the one about hand on the mat w/ no reaction time. but other than that i think they are all good changes.

Overall good job Pin. i say that's pretty accurate, although some of them i think are best case scenario for iowa. The guy we really need to take a jump up is Nick Moore. Of course Taylor is unbeatable for him but other than him that weight class is pretty weak. Even Caldwell i don't think is...
i like Ugi too. i think he could be a finalist as well. never been that impressed w/ Port even though he wrestled well at nationals last year. However, in my opinion no way does graff (or anyone) touch Steiber. he's on another level than those guys.
I'm not saying you're wrong Pin, but i'd be shocked to see him compete until 2020. he's 25 right now so he'll be 28 after Rio. lets say he has 3-4 world titles as well as 2 olympic titles under his belt i bet he'd at least consider stepping away and doing something else (i.e. coaching) then...
