It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

Iowa basketball fans haven't had anything to be happy about or excited about in a long while. Feel free to hope, dream and expect big things out of our basketball program. We just hired a guy who revamped an entire roster in a year and took them to the dance immediately. Take a look at the S16...

It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

No one is mentioning this, but I would imagine Matt Gatens could be one of the top candidates for the Drake job.

Look for Josh Sash, Tyler Sash's brother, to follow BM to Iowa City.

It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

Ben could end up with Pryce or Koch next season, I am not sure he's used to a shooters like that. He also seems to have a solid PG that might follow him. I am curious if they try and retain Spurlock, as he was one of the main recruiters and had his hands in a lot of the class that was coming...

It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

Over Ben McCollum's final 9 seasons at Northwest, he averaged 80+ pts 3x and never below 73. Only twice he allowed more than 63 ppg. Every year, NWMSU shot better than 50%; only once allowed more than 45%.

It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

This gives Iowa something it just hasn't had in a while in hoops, positive momentum. I've maintained that hiring the right coach could turn around Iowa's situation almost over night. If BM puts together a roster that can sneak into the dance next season, Iowa fans will come back, the NIL will...

for sure, and he had good players and a great eye for talent who could develop. I feel like we just got an upgrade on the x's and o's though.

It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

Pryce, Cooper Koch and Dimbele all said they were open to coming back depending on the coach. I think you still make Dix tell you no. Also, some players haven't entered the portal. Tadjo? Traore?

It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

Right, and in the past, this might not have been announced until Tuesday out of respect for the women and not taking away from that spotlight, not anymore, every day counts. IMO, if Stirtz comes along, if Iowa can recoup 1 or 2 of maybe Pryce, Dix or Koch, that would be a good start.

For what it's worth........... sounds like Ben is coming

This is a home run hire at least on the surface.

It's officially official--Walk BMC is coming to Iowa

Huge for Iowa Men's basketball. Probably the most positive thing we've had happen since we hired Fran if I can be honest. When that happened, we got who we could get, this time around we got who we wanted. Iowa basketball is in a better spot now and I feel pretty confident of that. IMO, Iowa...

INDIANA TAMPERING??? De Sleaze (college basketball as we know it)

I just donated $100 to the Swarm, I've never felt compelled to until today. I think there's an underestimated fan base for Iowa basketball and with the right hire this could all turn around close to over night, so I am going to disagree with some of the takes here.

INDIANA TAMPERING??? De Sleaze (college basketball as we know it)

If Iowa had more fans, it would have more donors. More fans, fan interest and buy in would solve a lot for Iowa. Maybe not the big dollar guys, but the joe schmo doner and that adds up. There are also NIL generating events that our new coach could do that would also help. Fran wasn't doing...

And I am ok with it. I do consume pretty much everything scott does, and had not heard this though

INDIANA TAMPERING??? De Sleaze (college basketball as we know it)

He was chasing the $$ and prestige and IMO, he's not worth it with his resume. He's not worth buying out for sure IMO - like, pay 5 million just to get him worthy? Not IMO. Alford had a S16, Lick had 2. McCollum already has more post season success then Devries ever had and he doesn't cost $5...

INDIANA TAMPERING??? De Sleaze (college basketball as we know it)

I think it's fair to question a guy who's taken 3 jobs in 3 years. It's suspect, even when you are chasing millions and the job you want. As someone who hires 10+ people a week, I can assure you I judge everyone by how many jobs they have a take and more isn't better. Also, think about this...

When NIL Donations Don't Plan Out?

It's not sustainable without the revenue sharing. It will destroy the sport....but things will even out and settle. It's no use complaining about it, or not embracing it. Embrace it. Iowa needs to. They haven't. Now we're WAY behind. We can all not like it or piss and moan about it, but that's...

    Cooper Koch enters portal

Everyone needs to chill out. She missed on her top pick to Indiana. Iowa is always going to lose out to a blue blood and ya can't really blame her for that. Every decent coach is currently occupied in the tournament. If Iowa has to wait for McCollum, that's fine by me. He isn't engaging with...
