    So, what are the chances??

Snyder is also proof of how the narrative can change for a coach. That guy is basketball's version of the Phoenix rising from the ashes.

    So, what are the chances??

The key phrase being "wasn't a requirement". The Ben Wallace type of players aren't extinct yet, but they are becoming fairly rare. Everyone wants a stretch four.

Brian Ferentz, Phil Parker Press Conference Transcripts

Belichick rarely says anything in his pressers. Saban deflects any challenging questions. It seems like a waste of time to use press conference responses to evaluate a coach's ability or the team's progress. I seem to recall that a couple of years ago Fran was praised for his "detailed and...

Hawkeye Football ’19 Recruiting Class Big Board 3.0

Yep, they have had good recruiting success lately, but still would like to see them add at least 1 interior DL in each class.

Hawkeye Football ’19 Recruiting Class Big Board 3.0

Would like to see a defensive tackle on that list. Rob, any possibilities?

    Iowa Basketball Recruits

I may be pessimistic, but the recruiting of Carton sure looks like Ulis 2.0 I hope Fran has learned his lesson and has solid plans B, C or D.

Game Film & Evaluation: '19 Hawkeye Commit Patrick McCaffery

They may not have offered, but I would guess that a lot of coaches at least had preliminary discussions with him. When Pat let it be known that he wasn't going anywhere else, they probably said why bother with an offer. I would guess that there are a fair number that are still in contact with...

    Pretty Ballsy Move By Saban!

Ignoring the rules violations for a minute, if they want a QB then Eason would be a much better option than Hurts.

2nd year Georgia in championship game

Except for 2002, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2015. Admittedly, not as relevant as much as I would like. But "never" is too strong.

2nd year Georgia in championship game

No, I mean NO coach would ever be able to recruit that well at Iowa. Not Meyer, Saban, Stoops, whoever.

2nd year Georgia in championship game

Over the prior 4 classes, Georgia brought in 46 4-stars and 8 5-stars, including 2 5-star QBs. So far for this upcoming class alone they have 6 5-stars and 13 4-stars. No coach would ever be able to bring in that much talent to Iowa.

Unlikely? Yes. Extremely unlikely? No. We were a couple plays away a few years ago.

    Kirk Ferentz: Living Legend

Jon, I really enjoyed the article. But, c'mon, you knew this wasn't going to be a lovefest, and that the usual suspects were going to show up to "piss". Don't let them drag you down to their level.

    Kirk Ferentz: Living Legend

But at the same time, there are several mid-level programs in the area that have gotten a lot better. Also, due to the vast amount of info available to both players and coaches, recruiting has become less regional. I think it would have been a little easier for Fry to keep players like Darboh...

    Iowa Basketball Recruits

6'10" and only 2 rebounds? I realize it's just one game, but that's something to keep an eye on.

    Duke/Sparty

You know how players are described as being hated, but would be loved if they were on your team? I think I'd still hate Grayson Allen if he was on the Hawks. The most punch-able face in college BB.

    Is everyone ready...

Given the teams they have played so far, I'd say the jury is still out on their defense.

Iowa will be ranked above ISU tomorrow

I'd say that Iowa has one ugly WIN

Iowa will be ranked above ISU tomorrow

Offensive player of week will be either Mayfield or Rudolph, whoever wins. EDIT: Maybe you were just referring to the BIG
