Top Tackle Target Beau Stephens Enjoying Tight Bond with Iowa

I don’t know. I think guys are worried right now that they might lose their spots and are committing before they are ready and comfortable. That would play nicely for a guy like Fleck who pressures commitments. Eventually I think this all clears over and it’s possible these kids have some buyers...

Top Tackle Target Beau Stephens Enjoying Tight Bond with Iowa

Don’t count the chickens just yet for Fleck. Since he’s been there he’s had a big problem with de-commits. I think I heard something like 8 of their current commits haven’t even been to campus yet. I don’t doubt that they’ll have a nice class, but so will Iowa. Let’s see if last years success...

    FL CB Jordan Oladokun Decommits

I said even before this that it seems to me our CB recruiting has taken a step back and I’m not really sure why. I thought we had some momentum with King & Jackson, heck and even OJ now just going in the third round. We are pursuing another corner from the Tampa area Jordan Young, but I’m not...

    FL CB Jordan Oladokun Decommits

The coaches accepted his commitment after doing a virtual visit and talking to him. They are making adjustments with everything going on. Whether or not he rushed his decision might be another question.

    FL CB Jordan Oladokun Decommits

Didn’t he have some tweet after committing where he said he wanted to play baseball in college?

That’s the big one. If we can win that Minnesota game, we should start feeling a lot more confident about where we are at.

They were and he did improve, but he wasn’t playing PG. He was playing off the ball.

    FL CB Jordan Oladokun Decommits

Probably why it’s a good idea to get on campus before letting them commit. We know Iowa didn’t force a commit (like PJ Fleck), this all happened very fast so not super surprising.

I don’t think Connor plays much PG from this point forward, quite frankly I don’t think he did much last year after the first 5 or 6 games.

2021 season look ahead, just for fun

I certainly hope you are right but I tend to think more along the lines of each season, and even each game is organic. Did we win a bunch of those games because we had a tough schedule or because in those years we were loaded, or did we win a bunch of games by 3 one year with a tough schedule...

2021 season look ahead, just for fun

Where is 2015 on your list? I feel like saying a tough schedule is advantageous and a new QB are the most Iowa fan things ever. So many more variables that go into it then that. Did we happen to have really good teams those year? Last year we were a legit top 20 team, and we won the games we...

Pencil in a loss at OSU. You either have to sweep Minny and UW or go 1-1 and beat PSU in Happy Valley to be in the race. That’s not even to mention MSU or at Purdue, or a slip up elsewhere. The schedule is not ideal any way you slice it, in fact it’s pretty brutal. Chances are we will be...

I wouldn’t rule it out that he leaves after this year, but he’s a local kid and Center isn’t exactly the most coveted position in the NFL. The Wisconsin center who was like an All American fell to the fourth round this year.

Iowa Football Well Positioned for Nebraska Athlete Keagan Johnson

Exactly. If you are bringing in a good QB every year you are likely going to have 2 transfers out of every 4. We have Petras as a RS So, Padilla RS Fr, and Hogan as a Fr (who will likely redshirt). Kind of easy to see why we aren’t landing anyone and why it’s not that big of a need right now.

STORY: Hawkeyes Pull Wide Receiver Keagan Johnson Out of Nebraska

I saw a Neb fan say that they thoroughly dominated Iowa last year aside from three lucky plays, as if Iowa making big plays doesn’t count. They are insane

2021 season look ahead, just for fun

Putting it on paper my biggest concern would be offensive tackle. DE possibly but we will have to see how Waggoner performs this year. I’m starting to wonder about the future of the CB position. IMO seems like we’ve had a little slide there in recruiting. Have to trust PP to figure that spot...

2021 season look ahead, just for fun

Fun thread. I think you’re forgetting about Logan Lee at DT, which is where he’s at now, not DE. I’d be more concerned about DE than DT, but have to remember going to be a lot of development before then. Yahya Black potentially might get enough size to slide into DT. Also the staff seems more...

2020 Recruiting Class - Ratings Bump

I don’t think that’s a bad comparison, only difference is Clemmons was a PG by trade, and Perkins is not a PG.
