Agree, the PCH is just fantastic. I like to ride my road and mountain bikes above the PCH near malibu on the canyon roads and the trails pretty frequently. Some fabulous views, with some looking down a couple of thousand feet to the ocean.

UCLA has tried to get a stadium on campus at least twice, but the rich dudes in Bel Air (just to the north of campus) squashed it. The campus is also not spread out and is in an urban area (although it is an amazing campus, IMHO).
