Or he looked Fran in his face and lied to him. I’m not sure what your daddy taught you, but if you give a man your word, you stick by it. IMO, he deserved the “wrath of Fran”.
Meh
I’m good with Hank Brown being the #2.
I rather see the money used for a left tackle or a corner…if they don’t like what they see coming out of Spring ball at those spots.
I wonder if McCollum basically told him that there wasn’t room for him and he would be better off going elsewhere.
IMO, he could be a 10-12 point a game scorer in the Missouri Valley. No idea what the current Drake roster looks like, but riding it out in Des Moines for his final season wouldn’t...

Too lazy to actually do the homework on this, but Kirk has crushed it in the rivalry games the last 10 years. If you are going to win 8 or so games a year…beating your rivals has to be a big part of it.
I dunno, man. Kirk seems to do his best work when they are flying under the radar. Expectations are 6-7 wins in ‘25, wouldn’t be shocked at all if they ended up with 8 or 9.
Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey are going to be top 5 picks. Shit, they might be 2nd and 3rd after Cooper Flagg. We all saw how disjointed they looked against Iowa at home. So yeah, there is more to it than just accumulating talent. If that was the case, Calapari would still be at Kentucky.
Iowa is in the same boat as about two-thirds of the conference. They are at the beginning process of building their roster for 25-26.
Let me see what the roster looks like, once it is complete, and then I will make my assessment.
I don’t disagree, but I will play devil’s advocate. Hasn’t this always been the case and now everything is above board? As out-of-control as everything is…at least we don’t have to pretend anymore.
Money and winning is a cure all. Wouldn’t shock me at all, if Dix and Freeman are buds next year. Any beef they may or may not had, goes away if they are winning games at a high clip.
Not trying to be a dick, but there are currently a 1000 guys in the portal. So many more chess moves to be made before we get a big picture look on what the 25-26 season could potentially be.
Obviously, I am not an engineer or an architect , so I always wondered how you could get luxury boxes built given Carver’s construction. Just like pro sports, corporate suites(luxury boxes) are another revenue stream that you have to pursue if you are BG.
Personally, I am not on that level...
What happened to the Hawks Nest? Alford was a toolbag, but he did bring the student section down by the floor, and it was a good move on his part. So what happened there? I remember it initially working, and then fizzling out later, but I can’t exactly remember why.
Relax
Indiana and Minnesota, both whom hired former Drake coaches, are currently in the same boat as Iowa in terms of their current roster. You potentially have an all-conference point guard as a starting building block. Can we give it 2 or 3 weeks, and actually see what the roster looks like...
The last 3 years, I don’t think it even mattered. It wasn’t going to make Krikke, Pmac and even Freeman better rebounders in the half-court. Payton couldn’t “cheat” the last 3 years, because he had to stay back and help rebound.
