    What's our ceiling?

Usually your ceiling is based most on point guard play in college basketball. If you can't take care of the ball against pressure, not much else matters. Iowa has a true freshman point guard with a strong supporting cast. Joe T's development is the biggest factor between a good and great season.

    Is Luka Getting Too Cocky?

I was sitting behind the Rutgers bench last night. They had someone who was trash talking at Garza and Toussaint more than normal, probably accounts for some of the reaction. This Iowa team has the most attitude and cockiness I have seen in an Iowa team, I don't know if it too much or not, but...

Hawks better off in NIT this year

I agree Seeing this team play so well has made me think about next year. An Iowa team doesn't have a chance to win the BIG every year, but they do next year. Every players goal should be bringing home the first championship to Iowa City since 1979. Been far too long. They will be remembered...

Hawks better off in NIT this year

This is a real good point. Iowa was due for some breaks going there way, and they have gotten hot in the NIT. I think this team was a little better most of the year than people thought. However, the improvement of Marble is pretty dramatic. If he plays like this next year he will have a year...

***OFFICIAL Iowa vs Virgina NIT FINAL 4 trip on the line Game Thread***

Several horrible calls that half White has hacked hard on the breakaway McCabe screen was not a foul in any way Virginia had 3 clear as day travels in the first 5 minutes If you can't see these, you just don't want to.

Teams in the Sweet Sixteen: RPI vs Pomeroy

and I am glad he is, the over reliance of the RPI by the NCAA is the worst part of college basketball for me.

    Hawks +4.5

22-9 on the year including the 2 NIT games, including 8 in a row. Iowa is #1 ATS among all college basketball teams (with 10 or more game lines set by Vegas).

Who's the starting five next year?

or you have strong teammates at your natural position (White, Basabe)

Who's the starting five next year?

I don't think he is going to start, but it is really disappointing to see the number of fans that disregard McCabe role. McCabe does whatever Fran asks of him, almost always playing out of position, and usually has a very productive 15 minutes. He will definitely continue that role next year...

Over 10,000 NIT tix sold in 4 hours

Jon, off topic, but I really think you should write an article about the new difficulties of scheduling for power conferences coaches. So much weight is being put on road wins for the NCAA and the RPI in the last few years, yet power conferences have to schedule mostly home games because of...

NIT Tickets sales must be going good.....

That is shocking if true. A strong basketball fan base is growing back from death in Iowa City, next years season tickets will be good.

    NIT Selection Special 8pm

Especially in that the Womans Tournament is the main reason why we are a 3. We could only play 1 home game, Carver is taken next week.

    NIT Selection Special 8pm

NIT seeds have nothing to do with the bubble and everything to do with $$. If Middle Tennessee was left off the bubble, they would be #3 seed at best.

    NIT Selection Special 8pm

Iowa and Tennessee both can't hold a home game in the 3rd round. Probably the reason why they are 2's.

Teams in the Tournament that Iowa could beat 3 of 5 times on a neutral court?

We need to prove our worth in the NIT. Several tough games are there for the challenge.

    NIT

Disagree, potential for several good challenges for Iowa. Would love a shot at playing Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia or Tennessee in NY, even if it is just the NIT. Several good teams from power conferences are in the NIT because of the committee love affair with smaller schools.

    The Committee Has Spoken...

Best advice for Fran. Schedule 2-3 crappy teams in Middle Tennessee conference. Of course, you have to play them on the road in front of 2000 people and lose revenues because of it. Oh well, still excited for the NIT.

RUBBISH bracket for power conference teams

Iowa beat 4 teams in the top 50, more than several teams that got in. Next question.

    Winning on the road ?

Do these people realize it is a little tougher winning on the road for Tennessee, Iowa, Virginia, etc win the play in front of 15,000 opposing fans. What do you think the crowds are like for Middle Tennessee's road games ? 2000, 3000 fans at most ? It is a little tougher in a power conference...

    Lunardi finally "made his bed"

A lot of people did this year. The only pick really in major doubt was MTSU. I thought they would be in, even though they didn't beat anymore except Miss at home.
