The thing is even if Iowa ends up playing in a game called the Rose Bowl , it's not really the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl mattered because it was between two conference winners, not two second or third place teams. If you can't do it the real way, you didn't really do it.

The bowl system is on its last leg. The loser of the big ten title game goes to the RB, that pretty much says it all. Being in the Rose now would be almost like being in a reenactment of something important that happened in the past.

You just completely destroyed your own argument. To go 13-0 with 13 being OSU (the defending national champ and also likely undefeated) by any margin is better than any win the rest have besides LSU maybe. Big ten champ at 13-0 = in. Period.
