    Great win!

As for the defense in the paint vastly improving for the last 30 minutes of the game, I saw 3 key areas. 1. Filip, Connor and the Murrays worked their butts off to not get shoved out of position and just overall great effort in the post. 2. Wing defenders played with more bnall pressure to not...

    Joe T

I agree it should be a 1 yr player, but even an add for shooting depth or to hedge our bets on whether Sandford would be ready as a freshman to contribute or another big in case Filip wasn't able to make a contribution would be better than keeping a scout team player. Even if the player...

    Joe T

I agree here. Fran could have taken just about anyone in the D1 transfer portal that would have at least made a small impact and it's a win vs giving in to Ash.

    B1G officiating

B1G refs are bad in both Bball and football. This is just a snipet of why. But I find basketball at all levels difficult to watch due to the lack of travel calls anymore. Everyone gets an extra step or two with everything. I thought the Purdue guy with the high school body who made more...

Okay QB Geniuses...I Did The Work, Now You Defend Your Point

And if you're into the DBag flavor, Scott Frost transferred from Stanford to Nebraska and won a fake national title despite being a very limited, but full of himself, QB.

Okay QB Geniuses...I Did The Work, Now You Defend Your Point

Also, just recently Joe Burrow was a transfer and did OK. Jacob Eason transferred to Washington and Davis Webb to Cal and both did well enough to get drafted. Cam Newton was a transfer for Auburn who won a Heisman and drafted #1. If you want some local flavor, Cody Sokol transferred out of...

Okay QB Geniuses...I Did The Work, Now You Defend Your Point

I'm sure Oklahoma is considered a blue blood, but they had 3 yrs in a row with transfer QBs dominating in year one (Baker, Kyler, Hurts). While I know Iowa isn't anywhere near OU in offense and QB play, and I agree a transfer QB isn't a lock or maybe isn't even overly likely to make a splash, I...

Okay QB Geniuses...I Did The Work, Now You Defend Your Point

I would say it's odd to rule out Brissett and Foles as improvements when they are/were both NFL QB's. One winning a Super Bowl. My guess is the QBs they replaced weren't better than that. If you just want to go by W-L record, why are we even discussing a QB change or even competition. I...

Wake up, little Carver, wake up, it is the official Indiana vs Iowa game thread

I would think both Murrays could start and there could also always be a Murray on the floor. Keegan doesn't sit a lot anyway unless in foul trouble. Kris could come out earlier than Keegs for PMac and then come back in when Keegs needs a breather. It shouldn't be that difficult for them both...

    4th and less than 1

I thought I saw on twitter that there were claims the NT hit the ball during or before the snap, but I couldn't tell on any of the replays.

KF Regrets Last Week's Comments About Deuce Hogan

I wonder what "The Deuce" thinks about his mom dropping one on Facebook to save face. Wow. As a parent of athletes, I understand the feeling that your child isn't getting the chances you think they should and the feeling that playing time and opportunity aren't always fair. Most parents want...

    Josh O #23

I really liked what he brought last night and feel he will gradually get more minutes as the year goes on. A big jump early on isn't likley. If nothing else, due to his conditioning. He clearly doesn't have the gas to play long minutes yet, but could get there with gradually increasing time...

Howe: Hawkeyes May Have QB Controversy on Their Hands

It still was way too conservative once we got to 14 points. But those 2 drives were fun to watch.

Howe: Hawkeyes May Have QB Controversy on Their Hands

Almost all of Padilla's incomletions were a drop or two and throwaways. And most of the passes had players catching on the run and not adjusting or slowing down. Even the Jones drop would have been caught on the run with a huge gain.

Howe: Hawkeyes May Have QB Controversy on Their Hands

Very small sample size, but Padilla looked better yesterday than Petras has in any game all year. Mobility, better accuracy, decision making and quicker release. Also shows more confidence and willingness to throw the medium depth passes. I don't know how you start anyone else next...

Annoying Penn State fans making excuses

Sounds like you need to not live near so many PSU fans. Must be miserable.

    2 things from yesterday

Overall agree. Not to be hard on him for making the pick, but on 4th down he should have just dropped it. Way better field position if he doens't catch it. But hard to be upset about an interception.

    Franklin calls out Hawk fans

Yes, this is basically admitting they teach it against an up tempo offense. Also, Iowa's offense depends on rhythm and flow, so these "injuries" upset the flow of their offense, not letting them build off of a good play. It doesn't have to be a matter of slowing down a fast offense or giving...

    Who needs offense

I really think the offensive philosophy is to play a fairly vanilla game plan and play into what the defense expects and if it works and gets some points, great. If not, they assume the D and ST will keep the game close and all that vanilla/obvious play calling sets up a big play or two late in...
