    My ♥ for Iowa Basketball

If BP was still at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, we'd be interested. We were interested 3 years ago. Jay Wright wouldn't have been an assistant under McDermott. Twisting reality to make a point isn't very poignant.

New hire ABSOLUTELY has to be a BIG NAME!

Don't know Ghost. Your thread is still worthless.

    My ♥ for Iowa Basketball

Umm... Not so much because Pearl is at UT. Good coach, Iowa ties. We'd be willing to forgive him for UT. The man wins. As does Dixon.

    Wrong. So Wrong.

    It's not you it's us.

And I wouldn't think of depriving you of your opinion. I just don't think the typical college basketball coach mindset fits very well at Iowa. The problem with our last couple hires isn't that they were unproven... it's that they were riding a tide. We took a chance on the prettiest gal at...

    It's not you it's us.

I'm just saying there is a good coach, bad coach, right coach, and wrong coach. We can quote every stat there is. Sometimes it's the intangibles that count.

Pretending that location isn't a variable in this equation doesn't make it non-existent.

When has that worked for Iowa?

    Scott Drew gets more impressive....

Drew couldn't be more wrong for Iowa if he wanted. And I don't doubt he enjoys "more wrong".

    Lehigh from IA?

Maybe we can talk the Captain into coaching basketball as well. The guy should be a jeweler with all the gems he finds. That line was so cliche I kinda want to hit myself.

    Big name?

Given, my Hawkeye experience hasn't had the longevity of many on this site. But in my time and with respect to the coaches I know of, have we ever landed a "big name" very successful coach and then done well? Ferentz, Fry, Gable, Olson, Davis... Gable was a star but I don't believe he coached...

    My ♥ for Iowa Basketball

I have to say I was pretty anti-Keno prior to reading this. But I think I would be far less disappointed now if he would land the job. A lot of the reasons you listed translate to my personal favorite - Steve Forbes. He also answers a lot of the questions that others have asked about Keno. He...

    VOLNATION SMACK TALK

The thread would have died if they weren't at least a little worried. Even if a football school like Tennessee was rumored to be after Ferentz, that thread wouldn't have gone for more than a page or two here. And they turned on their own assistant? Always a classy move...

espn insider: names link to iowa, oregon job

I think a lot of Hawkeye fans feel more easier knowing Keno is staying out east.

Most Realistic Possibilities for New Coach

Also, maybe we're downplaying the whole "money will not be an issue". If the U of I is willing to offer a disgusting amount of money, that could drastically change the landscape.

Most Realistic Possibilities for New Coach

I'm just glad someone finally told us who the realistic options are... Now I can finally back away from the keyboard  Just messing with you. I speculate as well. I just have a sneaking suspicion that, just like last time, we're gonna get hit with a name from way out in left field...

Steve Forbes being from Lone Tree actually a problem?

What's ridiculous is that I see the word "ridiculous" spelled "rediculous" more often than not. If it hasn't already been diculous, it's not possible for it to already be rediculous.
