    DJ Carton - To Iowa?

Yeah, I don't buy the "too much talent" argument. Our 1986-87 team had something like 9 guys that went pro... They were loaded. Didn't seem to bother them too much. Of course Mr. Davis's system played a lot of guys. Tons of substitutions, etc. So most everyone got to play. And Fran seems to...

Are you personally worried about getting the Coronavirus?

I've already had a good supply of paper towels so that'll work if need be. Worst comes to worst, can always use some rags etc. around the house and launder them. A little gross but gotta do what you've gotta do. I still find it hilarious that everyone is rushing out to buy TP for a...

Are you personally worried about getting the Coronavirus?

No, not particularly worried. I'm just trying to be smart about washing my hands, etc. The usual common sense stuff that we should all be practicing anyway. Just for a little perspective, I'm in Florida and there is now a little over 100 cases statewide. Out of over 21+ million people...

    Who would you add?

How about Reggie Evans. Someone that is a rebounding force that can limit second chances for the opponent.

    Big Ten as Usual

Same. I've really gotten sick of them. Throw them into the same hate pot as MSU (mainly because of Izzo) and Illinois.

    Big Ten as Usual

Yep, except Gard takes over and of course, they just grabbed a share of the conference title. They've been just as successful in football with each successive coaching change, too. Don't know how they continually turn water into wine with every single hire. I mean, look at their tradition...

    Big Ten as Usual

I'm starting to think Wisconsin made a deal with the devil.

    Wow, one loss away from

Yeah, and it would be Duke basically on their home court. Good luck with that. Love how there's an NC site every single year for the blue bloods.

    Super BAD Tuesday

Not playing a 1 or 2 seed in the second round sure would be a huge help. Looks like this team is trying to make sure that happens again. Can't lose tonight's game if you want a decent seed.

    Wow, one loss away from

Yep. If this team plays its way down to a 7 seed (again), it'll be an early exit (again). One Sweet 16 since 1988. Sigh.

Let's say Iowa wins out and wins the Big Ten Tournament, could they get a 3 seed?

Ugh. I've had enough of that 7/10 line.. You're right that 12 seeds have wreaked some havoc in the past. Are they much more dangerous than 11 seeds, though? It's probably splitting hairs - Either way, we'd be playing a good team in the second round. There really are no BAD teams in the NCAA...

Garza possible career scoring and rebound leader...if he stays

Yep. Garza catches Marble if he comes back and stays healthy. Growing up in the 80's I was a huge fan of BJ, Roy and Ed - so I'd be a bit sad to see Roy's record fall - but records are made to be broken, and if Garza breaks it, then kudos to him. He will have earned it and is certainly...

Let's say Iowa wins out and wins the Big Ten Tournament, could they get a 3 seed?

How so? 4-5 seed, you're playing a 4/5 in the second round. 3 seed, you're playing a 6 in the second. Not to mention, 4/5 seed and you're on track to play the 1 seed in the Sweet 16. 3 seed, not until the Elite 8. Barring upsets of course. Higher seed = better.

Game Report: Hawkeyes Keep It Rolling at Home Against Ohio State

Ok gotcha. That would be pretty ridiculous IMO but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

    FRAN Era Rushmore

Marble, White, Garza, JBo for me. I feel the last two have already earned their spot even though they aren't done yet.

    On to MSU

Winning @MSU is never easy and I still can't pick a W in this one, but this seems like one of the more winnable games up there that I can remember for quite a while.

Game Report: Hawkeyes Keep It Rolling at Home Against Ohio State

Probably right, but with just four games left, I'd say the "fade" has normally already gotten under way by now. Just a week left in February and still looking pretty good, so I feel better this year that the team won't crumble. Looking at the last four games, it's pretty brutal, though. @MSU...

Some love to Fran and coaches

That's how I see it at this point, too. But that could change the last 4 games if the Hawks finish strong (and beat PSU in the process).

    If you had to pick

Awards are largely a popularity contest. It doesn't lessen the year Luka is having if he doesn't get the award. Nobody cares about all the hardware some players from my Tampa Bay Lightning brought home last year since they got swept in the first round of the playoffs. Similar thing in this...

Can you whack a Gopher on the road game thread?

Yep. Go from letting them play to making up fouls. First one on Garza was questionable at best.. Second one a total phantom call. College basketball officiating continues to suck.
