Eh, yeah. I was thinking last night that this is the highest Iowa has been ranked consistently over the course of an entire season since what, the late 80's? 1988-89? 1986-87? I would be pissed about a first round loss too, but this thread is out to lunch.

A 3 seed is still good. You don't have to face the 2 until the Sweet 16 at minimum, and the 1 in the elite 8, barring upsets, which are far more likely at that point rather than being lined up with them in a 2nd round game. Facing those 1-2 seeds hasn't exactly worked out for us, historically...

The remaining games are meaningless unless you want a high seed in the dance and easier match ups earlier on. I'm not a "just get in the tournament" type of guy. I'm all for the team setting themselves up for as good of a draw as possible. Winning either of these games would go a long way...

Besides one more win on the record, I wonder what Iowa really has to gain by playing that particular game from a tournament resume standpoint, or for being "battle tested", etc. It wouldn't really go down as a quality win. In other words, I personally don't really care if they ever play that one.
