    The Upside Down

I had to go take a look at a few highlight clips to see how they played Spencer. It appears to all be shotgun run/pass read with a single back beside him, TE & WRs spread wide. He claps his hands, reads the routs and who is coming through the line, and acts accordingly. He's far enough back...

    The Upside Down

I went looking for Ethan Garbers passing efficiency at 138.45 and found Spencer Patras right in the neighborhood 140.08 Ethan Garbers 7games 141/216 10TD 9int 1703yards Spencer Patras 6games 161/245 13TD 7int 1825yards If Spencer wanted to spend his senior year slinging the ball around with...

    About UCLA

Statistically UCLA's rush defense looks decent at 99 yards per game #11. Rushing TD's allowed not so great at 13. (Iowa allowed 2) (Nebraska ran fairly well on them in the second half. Not so well in the first half.) Scoring defense is subpar at #92 Defensive 3rd down conversion rate is...

    Bowl Talk

I'm still not entirely sold on this whole super-sized conference thing. Seems like there is still going to be three or four standout teams, then a huge muddle in the middle.

No way Sullivan isn’t QB1 next week, right

I agree with the gist of that. I very much doubt we see McNamara on the field unless the precautionary measures last week were just that. The central nervous system is still a very mysterious thing. Not only do people react very differently to bruising of brain tissue in the short term, but...

    The Upside Down

I hope Iowa has a full complement players in the defensive backfield, or else this could look like the MSU game.

    The Upside Down

Thanks. I read a couple articles about the UCLA offense. They left a distinct impression that Bieniemy was new this year, but didn't state it outright. I took it as a given, that he was new this year.

    The Upside Down

UCLA might be a better team than their record. They have losses to really good teams. How long has UCLA been running their offense. I'm under the impression that the offense is new this year.

Moulton and Patterson are also getting a good amount of work lately. After that, whoever is healthy at TE, WR & FB.

No way Sullivan isn’t QB1 next week, right

McNamara has a lot more experience and familiarity with the system than Jackson Stratton, a redshirt sophomore Colorado State transfer added in June. I still think Sullivan is going to start. The coaches also want NcNamera fully ready if possible.

    Other Week 10 Games

Indiana vs. Michigan opens with Indiana minus-13.5. That's a line you don't see too often.

No way Sullivan isn’t QB1 next week, right

This also has to be a factor. From the Gazette: "Marco Lainez, who was seen with a cast on his left hand, needed surgery after suffering an injury during the week." Coaches have a starting quarterback, Sully. They need a second quarterback. I doesn't look like Lainez is an option. Hopefully...

No way Sullivan isn’t QB1 next week, right

Also, Sullivan didn't commit to Iowa until May. No spring ball, just fall camp, and you guys expect him to be the go-to guy from day one. Kirk was already looking to get him in the game last week. What Sullivan has established in the last two games is his feet are a huge asset, and excellent...

No way Sullivan isn’t QB1 next week, right

I would almost say there is no chance that Kirk will drop Sully and go with a quarterback who was under concussion protocol just a week ago. I can see Kirk wanting McNamara if Sully goes down.

    Preview, Prediction: Wisconsin

Sully kept his cool and didn't let all the first quarter nonsense get to him. The two TD's and the stop in the second quarter set the tone for the rest of the game. If Iowa comes up short on one or more of those drives and Wisky scores, it's a different game. Also, Early in the game...
