    Iowa Post-Spring Position Analysis: Safety

In Phil We Trust. One of the great coaches in the entire country.

Do we like the Ohio State WR visiting today?

Ohio state recruits outstanding players. They don't make many mistakes. The problem there is that there are only so many positions available. Their second string would do very well in the Big Ten. Every year. If we can get this kid on campus, I'm guessing he will play. A lot. And if he plays...

Brian's Quote: "If this is my last season as Iowa's OC, I'm at peace with that."

So true. But this is a great message board....a lot of fun, and extremely well run. I am very thankful that it exists and continues to operate.

Brian's Quote: "If this is my last season as Iowa's OC, I'm at peace with that."

And then Phil Parker gets to the podium and I get the impression that he is playing chess and I'm playing checkers. Incredible analysis; great answers; quick, nimble mind; humble; a guy that is obviously a terrific leader. Basically, every time he speaks it is "must see" TV. He is very creative...

Brian's Quote: "If this is my last season as Iowa's OC, I'm at peace with that."

I thought he was a decent line coach (a position he played, I believe). Neither he nor Kirk really have any concept of offensive football (Most of Kirk's coaching prior to Iowa was spent as a line coach, not an offensive coach). Ken O'Keefe and even Greg Davis were far superior to Brian Ferentz...

    LSU clearly better team today

I don't count those but that's just my opinion. I'm talking about finishes determined by tournaments or final major polls. The 2023 women's Hawkeyes finished 2nd in the tournament and #2 in the final coaches poll. Iowa football finished #2 in the final AP poll in 1958, I believe. Men's BB...

    Okay Bluder...

Clark is a generational offensive player and a great rebounder. Her defense could improve??

    LSU clearly better team today

This is spot on. I love Clark....so exciting.....great young lady off the court.....but everyone has to grow up.....let your on-the- court play do the talking. I think if we had played LSU 10 times we might beat them 4 or 5, but that is not how it works. A 4 minute hot shooting stretch at the...

    LSU clearly better team today

Great season. No football or basketball team has ever finished better than national runner-up. Clark is a generational player. Even Mulkey said so.

    Have to admit...

She could make more money with NIL by staying at Iowa the next two years than going to the WNBA. she reminds me of Dan Gable. She could be a head coach right out of college. Incredibly bright kid and student of the game. I predict she skips the crappy WNBA and goes tight into coaching.

    My 2 cents

Overall, the talent simply isn't there for Iowa. Fran has a nice system and we seem to do reasonably well in the Big Ten, but the talent and athleticism to compete nationally is missing. And I don't really think it will improve any time during the remaining Fran tenure. His two sons are not...

Perspective for a moment - two fold.

I simply find Iowa basketball boring as hell right now. We need more athleticism, but when he recruits it, it sits on the bench behind mediocre athletes like his two sons. Bowen should have been playing all year, not Connor. The recruiting really isn't there. Fun team to watch at times, but a...

    Rob Sand Wants Barta Out

Bruce Rastetter is a kingpin donor (his Ag Summit company has contributed a ton to Iowa’s NIL). He likes Barta. He doesn’t like Rob Sand. Barta is safe.

How many of you are having a hard time getting behind this year's Hawks?

We just don’t defend. End of story.

Iowa Women #2 in the AP

Great team with great leadership. Men's team? Not so much.

Wo-Man Up, Time For Some High Quality BBall

Iowa women have a toughness that the men's team lacks. Very confusing to me. I just think Lisa Bluder is a better coach and there is more buy in from the entire team.

Iowa State Is A Tire Fire

Grill couldn't get along with his teammates. Very divisive. That's all I'm going to say. They had no choice but to cut ties.

Iowa State Is A Tire Fire

I believe he is 64. There are so many great young coaches out there.....Collins at Northwestern actually seems like a better fit to me.
