    FIRE MCCAFFERY NOW

Seriously? Worse than the 1981 first round loss to Wichita State with Lute's going to the 4-corners offense to start the second half when we were ahead by 11 at halftime? Worse than the 1978 first round loss to Toledo when we were up 12 at halftime (after we tied for the Big 10 Championship)...

    FIRE MCCAFFERY NOW

No. This was NOT the reason Alford was fired.

So they decided to not call fouls on shots int he ncaa tournament?

Did anyone watch the Illinois game today? Kofi had three guys grabbing his arms on most plays and not much was called.

    Keegan thinking about coming back?

I see him going to the league. You never know what will happen. Remember Shaun Livingston? He committed to Duke but jumped immediately to the NBA. In what would have been his junior year at Duke, going in for a relatively uncontested layup and completely tore up his knee. If he hadn't gone when...

Wow. Can we Play Any Better?

The "Stupid NET" is what the NCAA selection committee primarily uses for the brackets. And as I type this, the "7th place in the Mountain West Utah State" has a NET rating of 61 while the ACC Virginia has a NET rating of 82 (lower than Northwestern at 76). Currently Iowa is at 18; in the Big 10...

    Brian Ferentz rumors to NFL?

While at Allegheny, KOK ran a shotgun with at least 4 wideouts for offense while compiling a 79-10-1 record. That's a little bit different than we saw when he was OC. Davis ran mostly his own offense - we still ran a lot of zone blocking running plays. Brian got rid of the horizontal passing...

McCaffery family has a pow-wow on getting hassled on social media

The thing I'd take issue with you is that Twitter, along with Facebook, Instagram, and all the other big social media, is NOT subject to the First Amendment. If it was, no one would be banned.

Indiana Game: Digging Into The Stats.

Just to clear up a point, a steal for Team A is a turnover for Team B. So of Indiana's 23 turnovers, 15 were steals by Iowa. That means 8 were unforced turnovers.

    Bohannon To 2,000 Point Club?

At this point in time: Jon Diebler minutes played: 4688 Jordan Bohannon minutes played: 4651 So he STILL has less minutes played than Diebler. Plus Jordan is averaging only 23.7 minutes per game this year, the lowest minutes per game in his career.

    Thoughts on Season

My brother was in the Hawkeye marching band and they would play the fight song for a first down... if they didn't play it then, they wouldn't be able to play it at all because they simply didn't score that much, FGs or TDs.

    Howe: Taking A Crack at Iowa's '22 Spring Two-Deep

On a side note, Parker Hesse is now playing TE for the Atlanta Falcons. Caught 3 passes on Sunday.

    4th and less than 1

Not sure it was entirely Petras. He didn't "bail out" and he didn't move his hands during the snap. I'd say it was 50-50 on that exchange. And what happened was Kentucky brought in their big-guy package and had two MLB's in the gaps between their nose and tackles. Not sure they could have got...

2012 offense and this year's offense

https://www.espn.com/college-football/recap?gameId=322942294 From the article: "The Hawkeyes lost starting offensive linemen Brandon Scherff and Andrew Donnal to apparent leg injuries in the opening quarter -- in a span of just three plays, no less."

Carver is a wonderful place, but basketball teams could use a new place to play home games.

I've said this before, but I believe we need to change the seating setup for CHA. The lowest area, the non-permanent seating, should be nothing but students. There is even a rail there that separates, which could be used so the students could stand the entire game if they want. It's what places...

This whole thing is kind of like Crash Davis's drunken speech to Nuke LaLouche. Check it out at about 1:30. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HP59H1YibI

You do remember why we had to get rid of Alford, right? Or are you one of those who is willing to look the other way when ...... well, if you don't remember this comment is wasted.

    Mr. Davis

BJ Armstrong went to Brother Rice HS (an exclusive Catholic HS) in Bloomfield Township, hardly inner city. Roy Marble went to Flint Beecher HS and is NOT inner city. Both Ed Horton and Kevin Gamble could be considered inner city, both went to Lanphier HS in Springfield. Bill Jones could also be...

The general fan base doesn’t demand it.

Yes, those Purdue players come off the bench this year, but....... who is in at the end of the game? Yup, those players who came off the bench. As I told all the players I ever coached: It's not important who starts the game, it's important who FINISHES the game.
