For the most part, I'll agree with that about his high school team. More than a few times I saw his HS teammates try to catch a pass from him against their chest. Ugh. But in the end, his HS team made the state tournament his senior year so the supporting cast wasn't completely terrible.

The rumors were that he had plantar fasciitis. The only real treatment for that is to not use the foot at all for at least a month. That includes walking. Yeah, he's young and he did play through it. I had it about 20 years ago and rest was the only thing that treated it.

He could hang on offense. He did a great job there. But it was our defense, or lack thereof, that hurt us the most.

Terry Youngbauer was the basketball coach here at Muscatine when my son went to HS here. He coached for quite a few years here and still lives in the area. Nice guy. He was the assistant coach when Joe W's dad played HS ball here.
