Fredrick Out 6 Weeks Following Foot Surgery

If nothing else, hopefully this repair will eliminate any pain he's experiencing and boost his confidence even further that the foot is sound and he's ready to go full speed ahead.

All of us older fans remember that great game he had against Kansas in Lawrence (ending their 62 game home winning streak) his senior year. Iowa got down by 18 in the second half and Kent pretty much shot us to victory, hitting four 3-pointers in the second half, including two down the stretch...

Luka Garza Weighing Options While Working Out with Loaded Iowa Roster

The 2001-02 Hawkeye team finished 19-16 and 8th (out of 11) in the conference. We wound up in the NIT losing to LSU in the first round. You're right. They had potential with Recker, Evans, Worley, Pierce, etc, but I always think of them as just another one of Alford's underperforming squads...

Luka Garza Weighing Options While Working Out with Loaded Iowa Roster

Just another negative result of having an administration that was too incompetent to protect it's population. And I don't want to hear about who else is to blame. Pretty much every country with intelligent leadership went through this same pandemic and have already come out the other side and...

Northside, really not trying to get into an argument with you, but the only skill set Kingsbury shared with Maravich was being a 6'5" SG. You are comparing an average college player with an honest to god basketball legend and Hall of Famer. Maravich averaged (!) 44 pts/game at LSU and still...

Tom Norman was a good Iowa player who's stats would have been better if hadn't had to share playing time with Dick Peth (The Tiger from Tomah), who's stats were almost identical. Both good players with similar skills sets.

I saw Pistol Pete play, and Chris Kingsbury was no Pistol Pete. But I love your line about playing sober. Chris liked to party.

Mount Rushmore shooting guards 1980 to now

Very tough to narrow this down to a handful, but in my estimation, Chris Kingsbury would definitely NOT be on the list. Yes, we all remember his spectacular moments, but he was a career 40% shooter and only hit 35% of his threes. Just on today's roster, I would expect JoeW and, especially CJ...

Former Hawkeye Greg Brunner Connects with Incoming Freshman Josh Ogundele

Hard to say what Luka is thinking at this point. This pandemic, and the way it is raising it's ugly head again makes the future of basketball, at all levels, very problematic for (at least) the upcoming season. Luka might be smart waiting things out until the absolute deadline.

I was a big fan of Kevin Boyle. Lute was as well. I remember hearing an interview with him talking about seeing him in his first practice, being so impressed and remarking to the other coaches, "What have we got here?!?"

    J Uthoff

Jarrod has done just about all he can in the states to make it into the NBA. If it doesn't happen soon, and he can make more money overseas, I would go for it.

Former Hawkeye Greg Brunner Connects with Incoming Freshman Josh Ogundele

Not going to dispute Brunner's opinion of how excited Iowa fans were to sign him, but for myself, I remember being very excited that he wanted to be a Hawk. I remember seeing videos of him on the news as a HS player and, just as he was in college, he was relentless. Hope Josh plays the same...

Settles - Arrived ready to play. Averaged over 15 pt/gm as a freshman. Back injury was a killer Aaron White - Was a bit of a sleeper when he got here, but proved he belonged right away. 2nd leading scorer Greg Brunner - Hard working, slightly undersized, could do it all (probably pushed...

Iowa Basketball Enjoying First Week Being Back Together

I think it surprises some of these city kids when they come to Iowa City. They associate Iowa as being overwhelmingly white and rural, but once they spend some time here, they discover how many nice people live here and, especially in Iowa City, how diverse it is. Iowa is mocked as simply a...

    ANDREW MORGAN

Not bagging on the kid, because McCaffery has a better nose for talent than most, but he has the weakest set of offers of any of the big guys that have been offered by Iowa. So many of these kids are unrated due to the virus cancelling so many summer events, it's hard to get a decent idea of...

    Wiznitzer goes to Louisville

He reclassified to 2020. We really didn't have a spot for him. We are in on a lot of great HS players this year. Hopefully the staff can convince one or two to wear the Black and Gold.
