The parallels between our men's team and our women's team are pretty dramatic. They had very similar blueprints for success this season. I guess you could say that Iowa has a "type."
Part of the player thinking it was all right to jaw back and forth with tiny tom was the kind of relationship he has fostered with his players, which I believe to be a dissolution of clear authoritarian lines. Sometimes that come back to bite you. The player believes he is on an equal level as...
I think it was a perfect storm for our defeat. Oregon was the ONLY team that got a bye in the first round. Maybe VCU gives them a tough, draining game or actually beats them. We played the last game on Saturday and then the first game on Monday. CJ, JBo, Cmac and JW all nursing nagging...
Their best big and top scorer is a transfer from Wichita St. where he did absolutely nothing. I think Luka is going to be a real eye opener for him. Hopefully the refs don't get too involved unless the game turns into hacking Garza and hoping for the best.
On the other hand, it bothers me that MSU played a guy (Watts) that was sick and got sicker as the game went on. This had better not comeback to bite us.
He gave a little credit to Iowa....mostly backhanded compliments on the guys that knocked down three pointers. He called the game an "ambush." whatever that means. Did we bring some ringers? Some players he hadn't seen in the past? No, I just think the idea of Iowa actually beating him in...
I understand what you're saying about Frank, but I think a greater percentage of the improvement Luka has shown is due to him just wanting it more. Who is to say that another player would show the resolve that Luka did to make himself the best.
I think I've read that McCaffery has stated that when Pat had cancer, it brought basketball into perspective for him and he vowed to stay more composed on the sidelines. Unfortunately, he will have a hard time living down his reputation with the media types who still bring up his lowest moments.
I couldn't disagree more. If we don't make up the cancelled games, we would have missed (so far) two home games with a couple of the lesser lights in the conference. Playing and winning those would definitely enhance our overall record, our conference record and our winning percentage. I...
Michigan plays Illinois and Iowa only once this year, both in Ann Arbor. Their next game is, once again, at home against Wisconsin and because PSU has canceled it's game with them, they will have almost a full week to prepare for the Badgers.
Watched On Iowa Live last night and according to Jason Bohannon, JBO claims Kris is just about as talented as Keegan. Ought to be interesting to see them both excelling on the court at the same time.
Gotta love the Coaches Poll. Duke has had three straight games canceled and haven't played since December 16th and moved up two spots. Kansas gets destroyed at home by 25 and drops 2 spots.
