    Brian Ferentz Survivor Show

LOL...I get what you're saying but that's a matter of interpretation. Those who don't like him would tell you it's exactly the case...his public abrasiveness reinforces that. Those that do like him would tell you it's because of other things which they consider positives, in spite of his...

Down on talent, yes. Hayden was not at his best for the reason you indicated and his last season was rough. He had lost the magic. But he had been to bowl games the 3 years previous (when there were only 18 bowl games). finishing in the TOP 25 2 of those years. The program was still highly...

It wasn't a "smoldering mess" when he found it.

Do you enjoy Iowa football still?

I'm sure he's had many offers. He has it pretty good in IC.

Do you enjoy Iowa football still?

I have to wonder what Phil Parker thinks...and what he says when KFz isn't in the room?

Oregon is making a statement alright. Holy hell.

This is the first week they've seen anything resembling a defense. There's also film on them now.

False. That 1980s view of advertising and publicity has long since been disproven.

I don't think KFz cares about points either. Once we get ahead he goes armadillo ball. No more points needed. I would argue that he does care about yards in that he wants to play ball control. To do that you have to make first downs...all be it at a controlled pace. Regardless of the metric...

This is key... "Iowa doesn’t want to linger in third-and-long".

If any metrics should have been used, it should have been where the offense ranks in comparison to others. (Just finish in the top half statistically). Still...the whole thing is embarrasing.

    Penn State prediction and meltdown

Not sure how that's a silver lining. If that's how it plays out, we gain him one year but lose him for another, it's a wash. Plus he's arguably more important this year as his backups are less experienced.

I get that. F***ed up my angle bad when in college (ligaments). Doctor said I would have been better off just breaking it. Still gives me trouble to this day.

    Penn State prediction and meltdown

Much as I'd love to envision this as another great Hawkeye win for the ages...I'm not seeing it. -Our defense is good, but still vulnerable (and PSU has a great young QB) -The offense is improving but Cade still hasn't found a rhythm...lots of misses and hesitations. -Still plenty of missed...

The Good, the Bad, the Ugly vs Western Michigan

The "level of competition" thing came to my mind as well. Prior to yesterday WMU was #42 in rush defense (higher than either ISU or USU), so I think the growth we saw in the running game was real. The big thing I noticed was all the backs ran North and South...no dancing. Course, having a hold...
