Which quarter do you think Goodson will tear his ACL in though?

    Purdue Game Prediction Thread

I could see a bit of a slugfest. In college football, emotion, perhaps more so than any other sport I'm familiar with, is a major factor. You really cannot ignore the potential hangover effects from the PSU game. Super intense and physical. We have great coaches and really tough kids, but...

What should Hawks do if they win the toss?

I'd take the ball unless there is a head/tail wind. If there is a head/tail wind, you absolutely must make sure you have a tail wind in 2nd and 4th Q IMO. Take the ball and go for an opening drive score. Having a lead - even if only 3 pts - is huge for our defensive system. That will induce...

Brown: It's A Repeat of 2015 for Iowa Football

Great article, Brown does good work. Guys, I love the Hawks. I grew up with the Hawks, it's in my blood. I watch every minute of every football and basketball game. The football games I can't even sit down - I pace around the living room out of nervous energy! I'm also so proud of how...

    Remaining B1G West Schedules

I did a quick Massey simulation of the remaining conference games, these are the records I came out with (I didn't bother looking at tie breakers): Iowa 8-1 Wisconsin 4-5 Minnesota 4-5 Purdue 4-5 Nebraska 3-6 Northwestern 2-7 Illinois 2-7

Has anyone actually charted the "injuries"?

I did the first half on a whim, but would be surprised if someone else hasn't already done this (better). I did defensive "injuries" only. 1Q 13:07 #97 down. Has not returned by end of 2Q. 1Q 3:13 Big Goodson run, #1 down. Returns after 1 play. 2Q 7:52 Hawks really moving the ball, #91...

James Franklin 5 minute damage control video on faking injuries

I wanted him to go full Gundy. "This was brought to me by a mother...of children".

Media Picks Hawks to finish 9th

A ton of production to make up, for sure. That's called "opportunity knocks" in my book! Tell you guys what though, given the vacuum he's stepping into and his trajectory and growth last season, I really think Keegan Murray could be a first round draft pick next summer. Lottery pick might be...

Media Picks Hawks to finish 9th

Something else to add - the Big Ten is a 14 team, extremely deep league. There are fates much worse than finishing 9th. On sports-reference.com, I went and looked at where 9th place would be every season going back to 2014-15. Obviously we all aspire to be at the top of the heap every year...

Wanna Stop Flopping In College Football?

Absolutely, my philosophy exactly. To be fair, when I say "semi-retirement" I mean going down to like 32 hrs/wk for the first phase, so don't get too jealous! It's a bit of wordsmithing on my part. I just try to squeeze out whatever free time I can, cuz I know I likely only have a couple...

Wanna Stop Flopping In College Football?

I'm exactly the same age with the same kind of genetics. I have got probably 20 years left, I figure. I plan to transition into semi-retirement (starting with part time employment) some time over thr next 5-7 years and I can tell you this: I put *nothing* off. If there is something I want to...

Wanna Stop Flopping In College Football?

I have a feeling Fryowa outlives the NCAA at this point. Well, at least the NCAA as we've known it.

Wanna Stop Flopping In College Football?

Also, just constructive criticism, but your thread title should have been "Wanna stop" and then the first line of the post body would have been "Flopping in college football?" Not only is it more pleasant for the reader, but it will get you more clicks because people will need to click to see...

Wanna Stop Flopping In College Football?

Really well done overall, I think. Very well reasoned, but admit that you stole #1 from me! Admit it!!! I think you could implement #1 mid season, no problem. #2 and #3 are also excellent. I'm afraid #4 and #5 may go a bit far, though. I'm not opposed to pushing further into "stick"...

    Tom Poholsky, 54, Passes Away

What a bummer. Evergreen is local to me, I had no idea he was there. Amazing to see how many ex-Fry (and now ex-Ferentz) players have gone on to be involved in coaching in some capacity. It might sound corny, but playing for a leader like a Fry or a Ferentz can be a life changing experience...

    Any word on Moss?

Yup, exactly. And, a lot of the time, pain in the body comes from the swelling around the injury rather than the injury itself. In Moss's case, it could have taken just a few seconds for that swelling to kick in.

Who'll ask Kirk about fake injuries or Franklin's criticism of Iowa fans or coaches?

Nothing juicy here, just came across this local (PA) news story in my YT feed and it was interesting to see how it was presented: https://youtu.be/TW5Ms0TW_6Y

Who'll ask Kirk about fake injuries or Franklin's criticism of Iowa fans or coaches?

Unbelievable. Not a shred of irony in sight.
