The health of the people in our country

Thank you for bringing logic, reason, and scientific principles to a message board. Maybe there is hope for our country. For those who are interested, a meta-analysis is the highest level of evidence that exists in research. A meta-analysis statistically combines findings from many studies...

    Preview, Prediction: Cy-Hawk '24

Great post. This game is always close. Turnovers and being able to run the ball seem to decide this game just about every time.

Point taken, and thanks for saying that correlation is quite different than causation. Funny graph to illustrate the point. In the graph below, there does appear to be a correlation :). cheers.

ASD is really hard to fake. ADHD on the other hand, is probably over-diagnosed and over-medicated. You can take a screener and state you have symptoms that you do not, and possibly get medications. Some of those ADHD medications (methylphenidate, for example) could be abused, so good...

No worries. Sigh... autism is NOT related to vaccines. If you want to perpetuate that myth, please show evidence. It's a really dangerous myth. I'm sure you're a great person, but it's definitely a pet peeve of mine when people present beliefs as facts.

The rise in Autism is alarming, but definitely predates the covid vaccine.

    Very cautiously Optimisyic

Thank for the info on the clown defense. I thought they were going to be pretty good, but if they suck at run defense, that's a great opportunity for the hawks to get it going on the ground. As always, if Iowa can run the ball and limit turnovers, it usually translates to a win.

The health of the people in our country

Interesting topic. I have a couple of thoughts: 1. Vaccines (in general) and healthy life choices, like a good diet and exercise, are not opposite issues. You can do both, as they are both preventive measures. 2. Our life expectancy (particularly white males) is decreasing due to diet...

Kirk suspended 1 game for recruiting violations

Thank goodness the NCAA is ensuring that recruiting and transferring are highly ethical. *checks notes: Never mind, some schools, er, collectives, are gifting Ford F150s to the entire offensive line. The NCAA has jumped the shark, and is completely ineffective.

    IOWA B1G Preview

I would love to see defenses having to react to different threats, as you noted. I go to a lot of games in Kinnick and I like to watch the LOS. Defenses just crowd the line of scrimmage, with predictable results. Hopefully this year will be a bit different.

    IOWA B1G Preview

Go Spence! I looked at USC's schedule and it's tough: Mich, LSU, PSU, ND could all be losses (they'll be underdogs in all, likely). They also play Washington, UCLA, Nebraska, Rutgers... could be tough games. Seems like maybe 4-6 losses if they aren't substantially better on Defense, no?
