Would you allow you kid to wrestle?

I'm not getting carried away. You hope when they are young that you help them with decisions and right from wrong so that when they get older they won't have dad or mom still holding their hands. You have to let them go sooner or later. I had three sons who enjoyed life until they realized it...

    Doyle/Telford

I agree. Put some muscle on Telford and he'll be a dominator.

Would you allow you kid to wrestle?

I'd have to see it for myself some 6 or 7 year old child cutting weight. I'd also like to meet the parents of this child who would allow this. I very seldom get ****** off with posters but, Duffman, put a dress on your son and rename him Nancy. Sorry. Now I know that wasn't nice but ,People get...

What is "wrong" with the program

Help me out pumpdog. PennSt, Iowa, And Minnesota, had eight wrestlers finish 5th or better. Are the eight points your talking about coming from 133 and 141# for PennSt? If so, it wasn't eight, it was seven. You get a point for finishing seventh but you don't get the extra half a point. I see...

What is "wrong" with the program

To hell with the football and basketball forums. There is nothing wrong with the wrestling program. From 1975-2011, Iowa has won 23 championships, Minnesota 3, OklahomaST. 7, IowaSt. 2, ArizonaSt. 1, and PennSt. 1. Remember, Taylor signed to go to ISU. Sanderson left and so did Taylor and Long...

    Yes I'm spoiled!

I'm a die hard Hawkeye wrestling fan. I don't give a crap about the basketball and football team. If they win, okay. Some of you posters talk about the end of the Hawkeye dynasty and how Penn State and Minnesota are going to be better than the Hawks for the next 2 or 3 years. You talk about how...

    Sunday Session III

I'm watching this basketball game and what a joke. Officials are a joke. Coaches have to call timeouts because the players aren't smart enough to figure out what to do. It's a wussy sport.

    a few big 10 thoughts

I'm a firm believer in what Hayden Fry said, "We don't rebuild, We reload". Ethans loss was really hard to swallow. He'll bounce back. I'm so impressed right now with StJohn. Give both StJohn and Gambrall two more weeks in the wrestling room before Nationals and Bobby Telford. Telfords win over...

    a few big 10 thoughts

Today were going to find out Ethans determination and toughness. Tough way to have to lose. It cost the Hawks 7 team points also.

    Iowa Recruits State Results

I'd want Ryan in my wrestling room. He never quit and stayed offensive. Alot of meeks points came on Ryan shots. That Meeks kid is awfully good though and if memory serves me right, I believe he lost to the sorenson kid a couple years back in a tournament.

Cory Clark-v-Jack Hathaway--2nd Round Match Up?

I can grasp anything if it's explained to me by a person who knows what he's talking about. I never did like having people think for me nor people who write stuff they can't back.

Cory Clark-v-Jack Hathaway--2nd Round Match Up?

Help me out here. Why do you say it gives kids less chances? Are you talking about the competition? It works fine if that's what you like.;)

Cory Clark-v-Jack Hathaway--2nd Round Match Up?

I graduated in 1968. There was two less weight classes then. State was divided up into AA and A. No one liked the idea of losing first round and going home. The IHSAA called it, "Motivation". I believe in 1969 or 1970 they went to AAA, AA, A. Oh, don't make fun of my age either.

Cory Clark-v-Jack Hathaway--2nd Round Match Up?

I believe there was two less weights back then and the first round loser was done. No schools had to drop wrestling. As a matter of fact, schools in the North Central Conference always had their share of state champions or runnerups.:)
