I would guess that folks are worried that a mid-major hire won't recruit the kinds of players you need in the Big10.... Lick didn't seem to grasp what was needed here. Someone that has been at the high-D1 level will have at least been exposed to what it takes.... even if they haven't had to do...

I think lots of folks have moved on to the UNI story.... Iowa BB is so bad the apathy has carried over to the coach search ;)

Top 2 excuses/comments that I noticed on multiple sites. Folks still throwing around Iowa has benefited from 2 recruiting classes in one season... Iowa is losing most of their team next year... .....maybe... but McD and MM weren't in the lineup last year and they are in the finals THIS...

I don't agree with this.... It's one thing to defend but you don't have to hold the ball on offense too. Play D... and RUN... It was fun to watch some of the games yesterday with teams getting out on the break. Up and down BB is so much more fun than GRIND GRIND GRIND....

I once lived and breathed Iowa BB.. Lute's final4 team is my earliest Iowa memory. Sadly, I've gone weeks this year where I didn't even look for a box score... NOW.... I'm excited again! I'm like a dog that gets beat... always coming back with fresh hope.

'big splashes'.... I'd settle for a big splash in the W column... initial appearance will only go so far. It seems the fan base is a bit divided on who is the right guy (with Bruce P. as the exception as it seems all of us like him) I could be wrong but I don't think a 'big splash' coach will...
