What position did you play in high school?

Great guy....he is about 4 years older than me. Haven't seen him in years but I knew him well and he is indeed a very good coach and very well liked by all.

What position did you play in high school?

Well if memory serves, my graduating class was 180ish and I was one of the last years before they moved the 9th grade class up.

What position did you play in high school?

I played DE at Fairfield 3A…we had a really good team that lost to Jason Olienzak’s (former Iowa sfty) Decorah team in the semi’s 14-7. Mike Dailey played for us who later played Lber at Iowa as did Anthony Jackson whose brother Milt was the first Freshmen ever to start at wide out for...

I just want to get this post out of the way now

I don't disagree, but I'm of the opinion we adjusted more than many really noticed and furthermore, they looked horrendous in the PSU game. Quarter to quarter/game to game...things change or don't work etc..best to be versatile and have a solid ground game to go back on.

I’m extremely confident KF will do what he thinks gives us the best chance to win based on input from his staff. He has proven that much to me. Just my opinion....but I will say this, if we can’t run the ball like Iowa runs the ball it won't serve us well long run. Watched to many spread...

In that spirit, here is who I believe we have seen enuff from to realistically assume they will get serious consideration. Both on their own merit and what the NFL has proven to think of Iowa’s talent… JVB…still has some to prove but he has a live arm and has played in the right system...

I just want to get this post out of the way now

After thinking about this I felt I ought to toss in…I honestly have no clue really. I’m a football fan and a life fan and I look at things through the prism of as much positivity as I can muster (some days are better than others) with a slant towards an ethereal, philosophical approach...

I just want to get this post out of the way now

PS...It’s worth noting I meant pure Defensive talent not total and Roth wasn’t on that team and Consindine was a frosh walk-on and Babs was a 235 LB Full back recruit. Also in the spirit of full disclosure Derek Pagel was on that team (another young walk-on though) as was Matt Bowen, but again...

I just want to get this post out of the way now

Really you know this for sure.....We already know based on past experience and that 2000 team in particular it likely has a lot of talent we don't know about just like back then, right?! I watch the Hawks a lot to Jon and I’ve chatted with you a few times on here and on sound off. No one knew...

I just want to get this post out of the way now

I haven't read this thread nor will I, but I will say this. If these things happen it will not alieviate any headaches. It will only add.... Interestingly enuff, that 3-9 team in 2000....played... 11-3.... K-st 9-3....Western Michigan 9-3...Iowa St 10-2..Nebbie 8-4....tOSU 9-4...Wiscy...

    Tyler Nielsen

I think what he meant was he is big and fast....because of injuries and talent ahead of him his potential has not yet been reached. Not saying it will but he is very athletic.

Jaleel Johnson - I think he plays...

That’s certainly true, but when you look at the stats (probably meaningless in these settings but still) no one had any significant long runs, no one had a very good average, and they got to the QB a lot, so maybe, just maybe, we should be concerned the OL didn’t dominate more…..it’s all...

Jaleel Johnson - I think he plays...

From what I have read and it is certainly possible the frosh improve more than anyone in the next 3 weeks. The consensus is that he and Faith are both quite a bit down the rotation. I’ve also read Davis looked decent and Cooper had his moments, but I saw one who suggested his explosion was not...

Ferentz: We Have a Lot of Work To Do

Yeah that’s a concern for sure, but somewhere I read he had a knack for knifing through the line of scrimmage, seemingly always choosing the right gap...so like a lot of things I guess it’s a tradeoff.

Ferentz: We Have a Lot of Work To Do

I am "the" optimist, except sometimes with my adversaries (and I’m working on that I promise….:D) but after searching around the web and over at the gazette in particular (morehouse) it seems like a pretty typical scrimmage. i/e: lots of differing thoughts and lots to work on and lots to be...
