    Iowas Tradition

While I somewhat agree with what you said above, the current NFL player list in OP doesn't indicate a problem. It should be celebrated. But I said No because: - The program got a bit stale, and assts were kept a year or two longer than they should have been. The way KF handled the departures...

    Iowas Tradition

Why? This list has Iowa with the second most players currently in the NFL. From the year 2000 to now, Iowa has the 3rd/4th most wins in the Big Ten. Not sure what the problem is... It would be great if we did better against Minn, ISU, NU, I get it... but overall this lines up pretty well...

Interesting Analysis of Iowa NFL Draft Success v Recruiting Rankings

Injuries and continued attrition issues have caused this football program to miss expectations the last couple of years. Or at least is a major part of missing expectations. Some years Iowa FB has overcome injuries, but the key here is timing. Injuries at the beginning or near the end of the...

    2013 draft

Is Keenan one of the beneficiaries of so many quality WRs coming out this year? If Keenan is the 7th highest WR prospect coming out next year, and McNutt was the 26th WR taken this year then something doesn't jive. But then again I am no Hawkeyegamefilm. It is still a long way until next April...

Interesting Analysis of Iowa NFL Draft Success v Recruiting Rankings

My two cents on why we send multiple players to the NFL but don't win more... Quality Depth is the main reason. You can have all the talent in the world, but you are as strong as your weakest link. Your weakest link will get exploited. For instance, in 2010 we were down to Koeppel at guard...

Masters ratings down 22% without Tiger

Does the down 22% number include only US viewership or global viewership? Tiger is the only golfer and only one of a handful of athletes ever that moves the needle globally. The reason the golf purses have grown to the level they have since 1997 are due to Tiger Woods and Tiger Woods alone...

Should the Iowa Athletic Dept Fund UNI?

It sounds to me like it would be in the best interest of the State of Iowa/BOR for UNI to become a satellite campus of the U of I or ISU. University of Iowa - Eastern Campus or ISU - Eastern Campus. Why are they going after the athletic department revenue? The real money is in grants...

Should the Iowa Athletic Dept Fund UNI?

This is the correct answer. But if UNI athletics were stronger financially and by extension competitively, is that in the best interest of U of I? I am not so sure. This could be analogous to giving your competition a gun to shoot you with.

    Draft Royce or Barnes?

If you are not a 3 point specialist, you don't need a jump shot to make it in todays NBA. Very, very few players have a mid-range game. Layups, Dunks, or 3 pointers. Not saying this is a bad thing, it is just what the game has evolved into.

    Draft Royce or Barnes?

White. His game is more suited for today's NBA. Poor man's Blake Griffin. In the NBA of 30 years ago, I would take Barnes.

    Tiger Woods is Back!!

OK, I was going to not respond to this thread as others have so eloquently stated what I think in regards to Tiger. His personal life is none of our business, for that matter celebrity or not, we as a people are way too infatuated with other's personal lives, IMO. But when I read the...

Epic Fail Illinois - South Carolina is a better job

Groce would be a very good hire IMO. He has done a really good job at Ohio even without this years tourney run.

    OT ...Peyton Manning

    - I'm pretty sure the Colts paid Manning every penny that his contract stated they should. - With an aging offensive line/diminishing o-line play and a defense in need of a major overhaul, not sure Peyton would have flourished in that environment given he is coming off a neck injury. -...

    Miller: Iowa Hoops, Exciting Future

The reason I think the three point shooting could improve next year is that we will have guards that can drive into the lane and kick it back out for the three point shot. I have not seen Gesell or Clemmons play much, but looks like one or both can do this. We did not rely on the 3 point shot...

Fran will win some games at Iowa

When did college, in this case, college athletics, stop functioning as a place for young individuals to learn, grow, and prepare for the next phase of life and being a productive member of society? Learning how to compete at that level, learning how to win, lose, be a leader, ignoring the...
