For those that keep saying NIU is good

From seeing some of it, it seems like it was a game with 2 teams that lost very important players off last years teams NIU (QB and entire Oline) and Iowa (McNutt, Coker, some nice OL) Both defenses played against some pretty average and inexperienced offenses. So I would agree that Iowa's O...

    Iowa opened -6 vs. NIU...Now -10

Ill take Iowa at anything below -14. Small schools like NIU will always struggle breaking in a new QB vs the big boys.

    This upsets me..

Exactly. ISU was 6-7 last year. Iowa was 7-6. ISU basketball was a bit better last year, but Fran has Iowa on the rise big time. Its pretty much even. ISU has better hoops attendance. Iowa better football. (while all were fairly good last year)

    Rodney Coe

I was told by a IWCC player today, that he came into the training room and said he was going to commit to ISU (tonight/tomorrow). I was actually on the phone with him when this happened. So who knows. Not sure Im excited about this yet.

    Cezar Guerrero

Yes. He was terrible last year.

Reality: We are down to our 8th string RB

I figure Bullock will do fine. The last few years the running game looks like it is going to be pretty bleak for Iowa due to losses of players... but ends up working out just fine. Im sure it will go the same way this year.

Who Do We Most Need to Be Successful This Season?

I think if KMM steps up and progresses bigtime at WR... the Iowa passing game could be VERY difficult to stop. You already have outstanding OL, QB, and TE.

    Iowa vs Minny on Big

I watched the ISU/Iowa replay from last year yesterday. I forgot how much of a load he was. That guy was a flat out stud. He really ran hard, at least that game. Side note: I forgot how bad of a game that was. ISU 2 short missed FGS, ISU fumbling inside the 10 2x, Coker dropping the ball...

    Updated depth chart

I thought RB and DL were young last year too, so that has to be midly disappointing. But yeah.. you are right... Hawks should be pretty young this year.

    Updated depth chart

Oh.. I had Iowa at 13.. Wisconsin, Minny are only teams to have less returning starters.

    Updated depth chart

I just read something that had Iowa having as more or as many returning starters as Michigan, Minnesota, NW, Penn State, Wisconsin. That was written a during spring ball, so maybe that has changed.

    Updated depth chart

Nearly every team across the nation feels they have a young team, despite a select few. Not sure why every year the team is 'young' at Iowa.

    Updated depth chart

Wow. I've never heard this coming from a fanbase before. Seems like every year... ISU, Iowa, Nebraska... is just full of a bunch of 'young' players.

"Olaseni has the most abilities on the team"

Trying to picture a guy who went from being terrible to being a good player... does that even happen anymore?

Gatens playing for Phoenix in summer league

Agreed. A solid, slow it down, Big 10 type PG. Not close to the NBA type.

    Garmon in Iowa City Sunday

Which for what he did, sounds appropriate.

    Question about Garmon???

Im glad social media wasn't around when I was a kid. I would have probably been depressed knowing half of my 'heros' were tweeting stuff like this. I preferred thinking everyone was a saint as I did when I was a kid.

    What will be more important?

Iowa has a lot of really nice players. An All Big 10 type PG would really give them a good shot at the NCAAs.
