The Unknown is worse than Ferentz

I agree with some of what I will call the "pitchfork crowd." I even agree with Vintage (who dislikes me a lot to say the least) to some degree about seeking only the status quo. But others do not like the die coming up snake-eyes on a gamble. You'd have to agree that getting rid of Ferentz...

The Unknown is worse than Ferentz

I know this will get a chuckle from a few posters, but I said a few years back that we should assimilate Farley into our staff somehow- Maybe D-Cordinator? He'd be good youthful candidate that could potentially replace Ferentz. His teams are perennially top ranked defensively in the FCS, plus he...

The Unknown is worse than Ferentz

I think that having a coach in the Big Ten -scandal free- is also worth mediocrity more than a used car salesman that would come in and "chizik" on the program at the earliest opportunity. Or he performs the the same as Ferentz, so why take the risk, when odds point to mediocrity no matter which...

The Unknown is worse than Ferentz

The answer your looking for is impossible- there is no coach that would get Iowa to a better place. I've been "won" over on a coordinator change to see if that helps with some noticeable deficiencies that staff puts forward schematically.

SIAP - Howe throws one up and in.

Why can't Minnesota win 7; or Indiana? Or purdue? Year in and year out? Iowa has only had two years in 10 they did not have 7+ wins. Sorry, but that brings a smile to my face

Give me 5 reasons why a recruit choses Iowa.

I only need to have two, NFL and Consistency. If you come to Iowa, you're pretty much ensured you'll go to 4 maybe 5 bowls if you redshirt. we have been bowl eligible every year under Ferentz. you get a lot of exposure, and great gifts. kids like those shopping sprees they get now.

I'm sorry, i must have not been as clear. I think we are consistent? 12 straight years of bowl eligibility, every year we are in or around the top 25. We have won 3 straight bowls in three straight years for the first time ever. We have softer boom and bust seasons. meaning we are no worse than...

Cool Bowl Game Stat I Just Found:

I didn't even come close to saying that. What I Said was- Iowa has lost 3 bowl games under Ferentz, those three teams (USC 2002, 2005 Florida, & Texas 2006) either won the BCS Title the year before (Texas 2006) or went on to win the BCS title the following year (2002 USC, 2005 Florida). And...

I forgot to add that he would most definitely "file papers" with the NFL. But after watching him this year- i feel more comfortable saying he'll be back than i did about prater/mcnutt last year. -on a side note i also think that Hyde files his papers too. just a guess on him though.

please do not imply i said any of these things. also, I in no way said annybody wasnt a true hawk fan. Hawk fans are just to spoiled. people just want all things, and they want it now from the program. but we first have to be consistent first, before we can be consistently good.

Iowa has now underachieved 6 of the last 7 seasons

Iowa is performing as forecasted for the year. We're bowl eligible again (12 straight years). I sure hope you have to eat crow over the next 4-5 years when we win another BCS. Game. Iowa is not trending downward.
