    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

I don't know if that is true. Because he never got a shot, we'll never know. But if a guy is a top 5 Heisman voter for the only year he started, you'd like to think he would have been an elusive player who could add something to the offense. Kyle McCann was a statue. Stanzi looks like Banks...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

We finally can run the play action with a high caliber QB the defense has to respect, but that wasn't the question. If you're runnin' a gadget play once every 20-30 games, you are way too predictable any ways. Like what everybody says and settles with ... "...oh, that's Iowa for ya, they just...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

This past Orange Bowl? Why can't I remember that?!! I do remember Stanzi starting out 7 for 7 for like 149 yards and the over the shoulder grab by McNutt in the end zone, holding their high powered rushing offense of 300+ yards per game to less than 100 yds and Weigher's TD run at the end...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

I hear ya ... the odds do go down significantly, especially since the defense would be ready for it ... or at least they've most likely prepared on their end for these situations. BTW - can anyone remember the last time we ran a trick play / gadget play? (and the reverses to Paul Chaney, Jr...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

C'mon bro ... that's the whole reason you, me and all of us crazies are on this forum. We rant because we care. And because we care, we are sick of settling for the conservative crap that is spewed in close games. If you posted the above in an Alabama forum, they'd go off. Elite teams are...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

Can't disagree with the 4 quarter comebacks, like last year's Indiana and Penn State games. With 15 minutes and 2-3 possessions, I'm confident we can get it done. It's just those times where it's do or die, under 2 minutes to go, and all you need is one score.

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

Alright, if that's the case ... they both stink in the last 2 minutes of a ball game when the offense needs to win it (during their coaching tenure).

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

I totally remember that one @ ISU after Thanksgiving. We win that game and we're in a better bowl than the Alamo Bowl. The above tells me that it is not a priority during summer camp, during the week and in meetings. Remember 2001 Michigan @ Kinnick? Same old ... same old.

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

... Great re-cap of the re-watch ... and my point exactly to the topic of the post/thread. I wish Stanzi would have just said screw'm - I'm takin' the bull by the horns and did what he needed to do which was kill it. Here's my question ... if coach(es) are signaling in a play, why isn't there...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

Looking at these screen names, I should have been 363NRiversideDr (Phi Psi Alumn). My rant is from a lot of the same old since 1999. But looking at Stanzi's body of work (forget the coaching staff), I completely agree with you OliveCourt. I'm a huge Stanzi fan. Not saying he'll be the next...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

Good stuff, ESOXHAWK. AlbertYoungIsGood - I agree, Kirk's positives out weigh the negatives ... probably a 95/5 ratio. If we had that 2-minute efficiency fixed before the season started, we're #1, #2, #3 in the country and undefeated. I forgot to point out the 2-minute drive vs. PSU in 2008...

    Iowa's 2-minute offense & Ken O'Keefe

First off, this is my first post (just signed up today) - die hard Hawkeye fan since the Timmy Dwight days my freshman year in 1997. My apologies if this topic has been rehashed in other threads, but thought it was timely with last week's debacle. I've never been a big Ken O'Keefe fan. After...

    DJK's Receiving #'s

Another thing to look at for the receiving record and numbers with Kevin Kasper was Kasper was starting receiver from 1998-2000 when we were 8-27. Imagine what his #'s would be like if he was on a winning team or had a QB like Ricky Stanzi.
