I understand that but I question whether that increase pays for a school or two at the going rate

Shhhh it is fun to see them speculate The conference will not allow the bigger teams to leave and they won't go without their rights. Teams like ISU, KU, KSU and TT will not leave for = money plus increased travel costs. All Big 12 teams know that their Texas recruiting will dry up in a...

Same can be said for teams in the Big 10.

Just my opinion but WV> Mizzou from a national pull standpoint as they have been better for longer TCU>Colorado from a national standpoint due to recent success. That and Colorado doesn't even capture their local market So collectively WV/TCU is greater than Mizzou/CU.

Most intelligent poster in this thread. Fact is the free market system for the Big 12 has helped every member including Texas. No one is getting screwed. Every member is bringing in more $, the confernce is more stable, and it is a structure that was agreed upon by all members. The "Texas...

Talk of FSU and Clemson to Big 12.

The Longhorn Network was agreed upon by all members. All members chose to retain their third tier rights. The retainage of thrid tier rights is the main reason schools like Clemson, FSU, and ND are even looking at the Big 12. Texas gives $5 million of their $15 million right back to the UT...

So Michigan St wanted Indiana as a protected game? Gotcha. Of course, Michigan/tOSU was protected. Those teams mean much more to the confernce. Much like Texas and OU do to the Big 12 because they bring in more $. Again a heirarchy built on $$$$. Difference is schools like Wisconsin, iowa...

And here we are a year later and ISU has double their TV revenue, the conference is more stable and is a coveted landing spot. Damn that Texas and damn Oklahoma. How dare they treat us so poorly

I never said iowa was in the same position as ISU. I didn't say that the Big 10 was unstable. I would compare ISU to Purdue, Michigan St or NW. Bottom feeders that go along with what the confernce wants and have very little say. iowa would be similar to an Okie State, Kansas, Kansas St...

Agree. Did Michigan St, Purdue and Indiana get what they wanted or did their wants get pushed aside for those above them? I would like to hear where Texas has really screwed the Big 12. I guess I just don't see that as much as others. Is it the Big 12 office getting moved to a larger market...

Thak you. that is basically what I was stating but since I have "clone" in my screen name, I am automatically discredited

If you take the conspiracy theory goggles off, there is a very logical reason that Texas nor many of the southern schools come North in winter. For the most part, the league had teams play within their division later in the year to minimize travel. If you look at schedules since nebraska...

Talk of FSU and Clemson to Big 12.

The criteria was set up to ensure that Michigan and tOSU were the top dogs in separate divisions. They went with competetive balance but they used criteria that ensured Michigan was still a top dog. If they would have used something like a 10year competitive balance, the divisions would have...

They already get the cable money. The BTN is in those markets. Schools like tOSU, Penn State, Michigan already carry those markets. So a school like BC adds very little to nothing in the NE market. It would be like adding ISU and thinking you would get more BTN subscribers in Iowa.

Please explain. You aren't so ignorant to think that tOSU and Michigan don't run the Big 10 are you?

Talk of FSU and Clemson to Big 12.

Like I said, no one in the NE cares about college football. Teams like Penn St and tOSU already deliver the NE or they deliver it as much as BC. Thing is large metropoiltan areas are transplant populations. People that move to NYC/Boston from Alabama will follow the SEC. They don't care...

While many Big 12 fans bitched about Texas and their third tier rights deal, it just might be the thing that strengthens the conference. It makes it much more attractive to schools like ND, FSU, etc that stand to make a good amount from their third tier rights. I love how people think Texas...

Big difference is...Texas was shopping around for the best deal and the PAC 12 did not have a better deal. The Big 12 has a much better deal for FSU than the ACC. FSU can move to the Big 12 tomorrow and make more money and that doesn't include their third tier rights.

BC and Maryland are in professional sports country, people in the NE just don't care about college sports. Heck, lowly ISU outdrew both of those schools last year in football and basketball. Look at TV value and you will find that a college like BC doesn't rank very high even though they are...

TCU and WV have more national pull that Colorado and Mizzou.
