Non-permanent divions is the answer. the B10 could just set some rules for realligning divisions every 4 or 8 years. The way the B12 does it now it takes four years to complete a schedule rotation and play every team from the other division twice. maybe every 8 years they are realligned based on...

In my idea the pods would simply be a way to rotate the divisional members while protecting some rivalries. Each year two pods would form one division. So on a yearly basis there'd always be only two divisions - they just wouldn't be the same two divisions forever. Or like I also mentioned...

Posting this without yet reading the thread - I'll be interested to see if Jon said the same thing... Assuming they go to divisions, I wouldn't be surprised if the B10 didn't set permanent divisions but rather rotated them every 4-8 years. If it stays at 12 then rotating every 4 years works...

If a P10 team plays a B10 team for the NC, which conf gets the boot in favor of Boise? I suppose the Rose would get to pick whoever they wanted to play Boise, and all things being equal I bet they'd pick a B10 team (unless the P10 runner up is ranked WAY ahead of the B10 runner up)
