    Iowa v. Indiana Football Game

Thanks dv, This looks like a great solution, however I can easily get overwhelmed with anything more than AV hookups so I'll have to figure out a way to get some help if I do it. Too bad I don't live back home in Ankeny anymore or I'd ask you to help me set it up!

    Iowa v. Indiana Football Game

iapunk, if you figure out a good way to do this let me know - I've got a couple BTNHD Iowa games on my Directvhd DVR and I have a Samsung dvd/vcr recorder that has up-conversion to 1080p but like you said you lose the high definition. I would love to somehow record in HD. Thanks

The Death of (Pseudo)Journalism, or, why I finally broke up with ESPN

You know what else is annoying - people that read whole threads on subjects they're obviously not interested in only to react condescendingly with "Relax, we won" "why can't some people enjoy a win" etc... etc... Did I ever complain about the team or say I'm miserable? On the contrary, I was...

The Death of (Pseudo)Journalism, or, why I finally broke up with ESPN

ESPN has a fifteen year deal to televise SEC sports, I realize CBS has a contract with them as well but that is how I claim the above. An objective opinion doesn't require crazy assertations like that I want 40 minutes of Hawkeye highlights during Sportscenter when I made my complaint pretty...

Actually, you did say it was a relatively boring game between two relatively boring teams. I apologize that I didn't interpret that sentence correctly to understand you to mean you liked the game and the team. I realize now that by saying relatively you can say that although you enjoy them the...

The Death of (Pseudo)Journalism, or, why I finally broke up with ESPN

I knew it would happen. I tried to lead away all the contrarians that feel the need to show how every other fan is too much of homer, too stupid, too disconnected from reality to realize how the rest of the sports world works by declaring in my first sentence that it was a personal rant. If you...

The Death of (Pseudo)Journalism, or, why I finally broke up with ESPN

I don't know where to start with you Erik - why are you on this message board?? Don't you have better things to do if you believe this team is "relatively" boring? Have you missed this season? I don't mean to be a downer either...but things don't get much more exciting than this season. As for...

The Death of (Pseudo)Journalism, or, why I finally broke up with ESPN

+1 on everything you just wrote HawKCP - the dance class at Northwestern refernce was especially nice and sadly true. I wish we could get an alternative like The Sporting News was the alternative for the flashier and more shallow Sports Illustrated when I was younger. I was so excited about the...

The Death of (Pseudo)Journalism, or, why I finally broke up with ESPN

I think I let it go - I just needed the rant because I'm exhiled to Michigan right now so any post-season talk I get would have to be from the internet or the national media. I guess it will have to be the internet.

The Death of (Pseudo)Journalism, or, why I finally broke up with ESPN

There are threads with a similar tone on every message board so if you aren't interested in a rant against a national sports news outlet I won't be offended if you decide to read no further. Instead of being outraged that my favorite team or player doesn't get as much coverage as team X or...
